BSA BLUE STAR 500cc OHV - 1932

A 1932 BSA Blue Star with 500cc OHV engine.

Lovely old bike!!!

Starts well. doesn't smoke. ticks over nicely once warm. all the gears work. clutch is good. brakes work. tyres are ok - front is a Dunlop Universal with very good tread and rear is an Avon.

Battery is good. ammeter works and the rear light but the h/lamp is on holiday - was working fine till just now. Dynamo is working but needs plenty of revs so I guess the comm' and the brushes need a good clean. Lack of use!

The oil gauge needs a supply pipe. It's not reading at the moment.

The frame number is 27800 and the engine is 272795 - the registration is YXG 680. (Transferable).

V5 in my name.

According to the BSA information sheet I have in front of me:-

It could have had a hand gear change but a foot change. as with this one. was available if desired. This bike also has the magdyno which cost an extra ?4. 10s. 0d over the Acetylene lamp model.

Seriously though it really is a lovely old bike but I'm selling as I have something else lined up which I cannot resist.

As the bike has been continuously registered - that is. the V5C shows the date of first registration in 1932 - it's possible that the number of owners quoted (5) might be correct. I don't know for sure.
