Here for restoration is a very rare BSA C15s 1960 scrambles star 95% complete. Fresh on the open market after many years of being garage stored. a great opportunity to purchase a rare model of the C15 range that do not come up for sale everyday.
According to the VMCC this matching numbers C15s was despatched from BSA on 28 June 1960 and supplied new to a C. Wilkinson. of Sandbach. Cheshire. I do not know if this bike was ever road registered as I only have the dating certificate for the bike.
I bought this C15 a couple of years back now and had full intentions of restoring it back to full factory standard as it was a matching numbers machine which is quite rare to find especially a scrambles model and not the more common but still rare C15t. When I purchased the bike a lot of the original part were missing so i started to collect the correct parts for the bike and found that it was easier to get the parts from the USA were most of these were despatched too and a lot of the parts are NOS!
NOS Parts!
Competition Camshaft. top fork sleeves. front mudguard. decompressor bracket. head stay and frame clamp. Lucas distributor cap (boxed). oil tank bracket. competition valve springs. large inlet valve. correct footrests. chain guide. long type fuel tank mounting rubbers. front brake cable. genuine BSA 10:1 piston +20 and centre cover plate with horn hole. part no 40-7840 (A Very rare item). Like I said. these are all New Old Stock items. I have bills for thousands of dollars for what i have spent and hundreds of pounds on import duty.
The bike is still missing a rear mudguard. nbsp;front mudguard bracket. chain guard. various cables and bolt on rear sprocket. All the parts that are on this bike are carrect by the part number for the scrambles model including the original seat recovered by RK Leighton.
The bike and engine are in bits and loosely assembled for the pictures only and may be missing minor parts that i have not mentioned and is for full restoration only. I willbe adding more close up pictures of the bike and parts.
Bid to buy and not to view! cash on collection within 7 days of the auction ending. feel free to e-mail me for questions or I will pass my number on. Thanks.
