Description

This particular bike was handed down from Ted Hodgdon to my friend. Taken from Wikipedia:Upon graduating from college in 1926. Hodgdon was hired by Springfield motorcycle manufacturer Indian as a marketing and technical writer whose dutied included editing the corporate newsletter Indian News. designing advertisements. and writing owner's manuals. He was promoted to advertising manager in 1929. and continued in that position until 1934. [1] He was described in an introduction to a 1932 Motor Mechanics article as "one of the leading authorities on motorcycle hill-climbing and racing". [3]Hodgdon wrote an instruction manual for the United States Army titled How To Ride Rough Terrain. which the United States Army used in World War Two. [1]In 1954. Hodgdon was appointed president of BSA Inc. . the United States subsidiary of British motorcycle manufacturer BSA. [1] Earlier that year. he was one of the four men who founded the Antique Motorcycle Club of America. and was initially the club's vice-president. [2]There is plenty more on the internet about Ted please feel free to read about his astounding contributions to the motorcycle world. Anyway. this is the bike and he gave it to my friend long ago. who also worked and owned BSA dealerships back in the day. Most of the miles on it were put on it by Ted Hodgdon himself on a track. close to the warehouse where it sat in crate for many years. It comes with the original crate and some great stories and letters from my 81 year old friend who has had it for eons. It is his pride and joy. and represents his stellar life as a great motorcycles enthusiast and dealer. You'll never see one like this. or hear stories like the ones that come with it again. super rare piece of motocross history here folks!! No joke!We are happy to assist with worldwide shipping for these museum piece. Serious bidders only please no tire kickers!!!!!!This is far from your average BSA. because ultra low milage. and stunning historical significance.
