UP FOR SALE IS MY 1972 BSA THUNDER BOLT WITH 13000 MILES I HAVE OWNED IT FOR 15 YRS ITS CURRENTLY NOT RUNNING IT WAS COMPLETELY FUNCTIONAL WHEN I PURCHASED IT FROM THE SECOND OWNER WHO PURCHASED IT WITH 10000 MILES HE HAD REPAINTED IT IN ITS ORIG COLOR ETRUSEAN BRONZE THE FACTORY COLOR FOR 72 FROM WHAT I READ I WOULD ONLY RIDE IT 10 MILES AT A TIME ON THE NICE BACK ROADS AROUND MY HOME I NEVER WAS COMFORTABLE WITH THE CONTOLS BACKWARDS WHEN COMPAREDTO MY OTHER BIKES AND THE KICK START ONLY I DIDNT RIDE IT FOR 2 YRS PREFERING MY OTHER BIKES INSTEAD WHEN I FINALLY WENT TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN IT WOULD NOT IDLE I WOULD NEED TO APPLY THOTTLE TO KEEP IT RUNNING NO PROBLEM I THOUGHT I PULLED THE CARB BOWL AND SPRAYED CARB CLEANER IN THE JETS BUT IT STILL HAD THE SAME PROBLEM SO I PUT IT AWAY AND RODE THE OTHER BIKES THE BIKE HAD NO ISSUES WHEN I WAS RIDING IT REGULARLY BRAKES WORK FINE ENGINE IS SOUND AND RAN WELL WITH GOOD POWER NO SMOKE IT SHOWS PATINA FOR ITS AGE ALL CHROME IS GOOD BUT HAS LITTLE BLACK SPECKS ON SOME SEEN UP CLOSE LIKE THE FENDERS OVER ALL VERY PRESENTABLE NOT EMBARASSING AT CRUISE NITES GAS TANK IS SEALED INSIDE SMALL OIL SEEPS AT ENGINE I WOULDNT BOTHER WITH THEM BATTERY IS DEAD AND OLD SMALL TEAR IN LEFT SIDE OF SEAT AND CHIP IN PAINT MY SON DID THAT IN STORAGE TIRES SHOW NO ROT AT ALL AND LOTS OF TREAD SOMEONE WITH SKILL CAN HAVE THIS UP AND RUNNING IN A WEEKEND IN MY OPINION FIX THE CARB ISSUE AND REPLACE THE BATTERY
