This is an all original bike. My dad's daily driver from 1970-1986 with 37,000+ miles. Engine never taken apart. Was laid down in '74 or '75 at low speed. Tins were scraped up so my dad had it repainted. Only modification is a Boyer ignition with 6v coils and resistor spark plugs. This bike has never been restored but rather just maintained. It comes with many spare parts such as the original point ignition, lides from the carbs, ome spare new cables and old stock spare cables. It also comes with the parts manual and the service manual. Runs great even though it sat from 1986 to 2013 when I took it on. We sold it in 2012 as part of an estate and I bought it back to get it running for sentimental value. Tank has been coated with an anti-rust acid---not a tank liner. Leaks like all my dad's other British bikes. Getting too old to enjoy a kick start bike and need to pass it on to the next family. No items have been chromed, ust cleaned and polished. Original seat.
Tachometer does not work. It was disconnected but the cable is still in tact. Runs, hifts, eaks and makes a beautiful noise just like it is supposed to. Headlight bezel has some scratch on it due to the low speed lay down in 74 or 75 during a poker run. The primary cover is a very early design possibly from the first 1968 model year runs. Had the very uncommon '68 primary chain tensioner. It fell apart one day thankfully running in my garage. I've since upgraded the chain tensioner to the newer version. Tossed in a Boyer ignition to help it start better.
Comes with all the spare gaskets, n oil filter and combination open and box end wrenches needed for the carbs. The carbs were professionally cleaned and balanced by Wes Scott in Florida. All spare parts including tires all purchased from Wes Scott who is a mighty resource for anyone with a triple. All service parts invoices will go with the bike so someone will have a complete list of part numbers for normal wear items.
Check out a video of this bike running athttps://youtu.be/Us3oKunAYr4 after the carb rebuild. Feel free to email me at penny@pennymattingly. Call or text to 765.430.8333. Good luck as this is a once in a lifetime bike that can stay in the same condition for another 46 years if garaged properly like our family has.
