This is a pretty nice matching numbers 1970 Bsa Victor that mechanically should not need anything. That being sai, ts an old bike with old parts and anything can happen. If you can not or do not want to work on old bikes, ont buy anything british. They will require tinkering and regular maintenance. This particular bike has a fresh top end with the machine work and the piston supplied by E&V Engineering in Michigan. I sent the top end to Ed and he did an outstanding job on the machine work. Theres a +.040 pisto, ew guides and black diamond valves inside. The gearbox bearings have been replaced. The primary chain is new. The clutch plates and the new Amal carb have less than 500 miles on them. There also is a brand new Pazon electronic ignition installed with a new sealed battery. The sludge plug was pulled while the top end was off and everything was clean inside as I had been told by previous owner. There also is a SRM drain cover on the bike that makes oil changes much easier and a whole lot cleaner. The tires are new and the closest thing Ive found to Dunlop Trials Universals. The exhaust pipe is a NOS (aftermarket) pipe from England and the muffler is a new Brituro sold by BSA Unit singles. A great guy and a good resource for parts. The bike usually starts first kick with the correct sequence and runs well. I was planning on keeping the bik, ut wth a daughter in her first year of college, little extra cash freed up would be welcomed. The top end has right at 100 miles on it and I will change the oil prior to sale, ut will need to be changed again after another 500 or so miles to make sure the break in goes well.
The cosmetics of the bike are good for a rider, ut could be improved upon if someone wants to really make the bike nice. The tank has a few pea sized dings but nothing major. It is one of the nicest victor tanks Ive seen in a while. The front fender and the rear wheel shine nice with only minor imperfections. The rear fender and the front wheel do show some pitting. They should be perfect candidates for re-chroming. The side cover and oil tank look good. The wiring harness is virtually uncut and origial. All the lights and horn work with the exception of the front brake line switch. Probably just needs to be cleaned. The seat cover is nice and I believe is a reproduction.
All in all its a very nice bike that can be enjoyed like it is, r for a few hundred bucks be taken to the next level. The expensive motor work has been done and now only the cosmetics remain.
Im sure I have forgotten something, ut I have tried to take plenty of pictures to answer many of the questions. This is a nice bike, ut is an old bike with some flaws. You should not expect a new bike when it arrives . A local inspection prior to the end of the auction is recommended and encouraged. Please ask any and all question prior to bidding. I will not be responsible for things I overlooked and questions you didnt ask. No warranties expressed or implied. Full payment is due within 5 days of auctions close via bank wire, ashiers check, r cash in person. A $500 non refundable deposit is due within 12 hours of auctions end as well as final arrangements for full payment. The bike and the clear Tn title in my name will not be released until all funds are clear. The bike needs to be picked up within 3 weeks of auctions end. So please have an idea of who you want to use and their prices before you bid. After you win the auction, ts your bike and it needs to be on its way to you. Thanks and good luck.
Idle is a bit high in the video due to a cold start.
