Description

Up for sale is a 1970 BSA A65 Lightning motorcycle! This bike has matching serial numbers on the engine and frame, s well as a clear transferable NYS registration.
The top end was rebuilt with replacement piston/rings and NOS head gasket by previous owner, ew top end has roughly 15 miles on it. Motor has compression. See pictures for condition.
I bought this bike two years ago. At the time of purchase it ran great, nd started first kick every time. Transmission shifted smoothly through all gears. I put about 15 miles on it. Mid summer last year I washed the bike and while riding it back into the garage it stalled out. After looking into it I found the bike had no spark. My assumption was that the coils must have gotten water in them or something. I never found the time to complete diagnosis and get the bike running again. My loss is your gain, ith a little work you can be riding this bike!
Notes:Inside of gas tank apears to be rust free (pictured)Bike was registered and insured this and last yearI have not cleaned the bike in a bout a year, nbsp;with a little effort it will clean up real nice.I believe that exhaust is aftermarket from the time period, ounds awesome!Handlebars are also not original, hey have a very high rise compared to the originals.
Issues / flaws:Front fender is not a BSA fender.Speedometer is disconnected and from an A50 I believe. (actual bike milage unknown)Brake levers not original.
This item is sold AS IS, ith no warranty implied or otherwise.
