1954 VATERLAND MAW. Like BSA "Winged Wheel".

I am offering for sale this very rare 1954 VATERLAND MAW . Vaterland is one of Germany's oldest bicycle manufacturers. There is a similar model on display in the Deutsches Museum in Munich and is in itself a highly collectible vintage bicycle. Note the interesting front brake with the pad pressing directly down on the tire instead of the rim. The MAW engine set-up is from East Germany and is a licensed version of the West German AMO referred to as a "Hilfsmotor" (help engine). Very original and in good running condition. 49cc. 2 stroke. 25mph (downhill with a slight tail wind!!!) This design is similar to the BSA "Winged Wheel" and the 32cc "Cyclemaster". Sold with a "Bill of Sale" only. I have been collecting interesting and unusual European motorcycles in Los Angeles for 35 years and would love to keep them all (especially ones that don't take up much space!) but it is time to thin out the collection.
