Description

Here is an opportunity to purchase an original and unrestored 1970 BSA A65 Thunderbolt, 54 cc single carb twin motorcycle. The bike has 6574 original miles and is in excellent mechanical condition. I acquired this bike from the second owner who has had it since 1976. It appears that he put approx. 400 miles on the bike during the course of his ownership. I received the bike in non running condition. I first drained and replenished all of the fluids including the oil tank, ngine sump, rimary chaincase, earbox, nd front forks. I removed and cleaned the carb, lushed the fuel tank, nd installed a fresh AGM battery. The bike at some point had been converted to a Boyer Brandsen electronic ignition utilizing two six volt coils in series, nd a Tympanium rectifier/diode. The system was wired incorrectly as I received the bike and I suspect it was one of the reasons that the bike had been left idle for so long. With the fresh battery, wo new Champion N4C spark plug, ome fresh 93 octane gas and the system re-wired correctly the engine immediately came to life. It runs very well, nd clutches and shifts as it should. It has the feel of a very low mileage 1970 BSA. The bike was stored over the years in a garage, ut was subject to a normal amount of Florida humidity. The bike is generally in very good cosmetic condition, ut does have it`s share of light patina in the form of nicks and scratches in the paint, ome very light pitting or hazing of the chrome, nd a couple of very miniscule dings in the tank and fenders. I have only done a bit of superficial cleaning and the bike can be brought much further along cosmetically with some labor intensive detailing. The vin numbers on the engine and frame match, s does the clear Florida title in my name. A video of the bike running can be watched at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HL3rEV65634 The bike is at Edgewater Fl, bout 20 miles south of Daytona Beach and just off I-95. I will be traveling out the end of next week, nd may be able to help with delivery of the bike for a reasonable ratebetweenFlorida and Virginia, est Va, hio and points west. The tires on the bike have been replaced at some point. They have good tread but I would not recommend highway use due to their age. I anyone chooses the Buy it Now option, will install two new Dunlop K70`s for the BIN price. Thanks for looking and happy bidding! If you have any questions or would like additional pics or info. feel free to ask.
