-NOTE- Due to eBay's inability to control their zero feedback buyer 'cancer' plaguing their site, have had to resort toan immediate deposit due upon hitting the buy it now. This is the only way to discourage the thousands of ebay loonies from hitting buy it now, nd who then think it's really funny tosimply vanish on their purchase obligation. I know I'm not the only seller on ebay struggling with this issue now. If this is a problem for any serious buyer, lease call me to discuss. Thanks for understanding--Az-Mike 623-465-0636

1976 CCM 500 MX-- Developed from BSA's demise from the racing scene, hese were true 'works bikes' that the general public could actually buy (as long as you had the money!). Developed by Alan Clews, hese bikes were full-on custom built to be the ultimate 4-stroke motocrosser's of their day. Alan Clews, ounder of CCM, as a successfulTrialsandScramblesrider in the late 1960s. He wanted a lighter, ore nimble and modernmotocrossbike, ike the BSA factory engined 500cc works specials. When the BSA Competition Department went out of business, e saw his opportunity and bought all the works parts that were available. Clews started building motocross bikes in his garage. Having no access to BSA works engines, lews made his own extensive improvements to the standard BSA B50500cc engine, btained by breaking up B50 MX bikes. His reputation grew as a builder offour-strokemotocross bikes that were capable of competing with the dominanttwo-strokebikes. In the mid-1970s, he CCM racing team achieved respectable results in the 500ccMotocross World Championship, ith riderJohn Banksplacing in the top five several times.

Original Falk fenders. Orig. fiberglass fuel tank w/original paint. Magura controls. Rebuilt Works Performance finned shocks. Orig. Amal carb. Original CCM magnesium engine cases, heels, riple clamps, amp; fork legs helped these bikes weigh in at only 230 lbs. dry. Aluminum number plates. Forks were just rebuilt. New Twin Air filter. Original British Dunlop Sports K88 rear knobby and vintage Metzler frontappear to have around 85-95% tread left. This is a low mileage bike.

Extremely quick bikes with massive torque. These were crazy expensive bikes costing $4000 in 1976, hich equates to around $20,000 today. Hand built nickle plated chromoly frame. Each bike was 100% hand built utilising the absolute best components and true 'works' BSA motors, nd are largely considered by most today to be the ultimate vintage thumper racers of all time. This example is largely original and has undergone a cosmetic restoration to 'as raced' condition.

I found this bike in Long Island, Y and was purchased as part of a collection of very special bikes. It appears as though this bike had been hardly ridden. Very trick, are, nd extremely collectible. If you have a high-end vintage MX bike collection and don't already have a CCM, hen it is incomplete. This is a RACE BIKE and for all I know that could be vintage Unadilla dirt visible underneath fenders.

This appears to be an early '76 model with no frame loop over rear fender. The frame loop ends are capped off and nickle plated from the factory.

NOTE: Spark is intermittant and may need a new ignition system, r at the very least an overhaul by a skilled BSA ignition specialist. Currently has NO OIL in frame or engine.

Very few of these were made (less than 50?) and this is frame serial number 76018 (18th bike built in 1976). You could order these in three engine sizes----500cc, 00cc, amp; 640cc. Tom & Dan White (the White Bros.) have one of these (600cc version) intheir collection and told MXA magazine that they value theirs at $20K. Mine's not quite as nice as theirs, o here's your chance to buy mineat 1/2 price.
