This rare old 1969 BSA 650 A65T Thunderbolt with matching numbers has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life ?ˆ“ the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to machinery than ours. The instruments are missing off the bike but it doesn't look as though it has done a great deal of work and it has obviously been in dry storage throughout its long life. PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES. We will leave it up to you British Classic aficionados to decide what is rite or wrong about this one but as you can see this bike has got a few bits missing. a few bits modified & a few bits are very nice indeed. The engine is cosmetically very clean. it turns over nicely off the kick starter & displays compression. When we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it a few snorts of Ether it actually fired. started & run but it is obvious the carb needs attention. The bike is currently unregistered. The registration process is reasonably uncomplicated.

We have not got the American Title (Registration Document). we have only got the NOVA Customs & Excise to prove we have paid VAT & duty which will be provided with the bike and an official V55/5 form for 1st registration application.

REGISTRATION

1. You need to get the bike MOT?ˆ™d.

2. You need to prove the year of manufacture. Phone North Leicester Motorcycles on 01530 263381 with the frame & engine Numbers. for a small fee they will send you a letter confirming the age.

3. You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on the chassis number.

4. Post all this paper work to the DVLA who will charge you £55 for the 1st registration & the current amount for the road tax.

5. The DVLA will post you a tax disc with your age related registration number.
