1920 ABC SkootaMota. 125cc good runner with V5C

Here is an interesting if a little quirky example of vintage motorscootering - an ABC Campling SkootaMota!

This example is in good running order. I have ridden it several hundred yards (!) and it goes quite well. With no clutch & no gears just only a throttle and decompressor for controlling the engine you need to be quite brave!

Amazingly the brakes are very good though!

The engine sounds superb and does actually start very easily.

The scooter comes with a V5C . registration BF 6971. (There is nothing on V5C to say this is non transferable) Frame number 2804. engine number 1626. date of registration 01/06/20. It is recorded in V5C as 125CC so it would even be learner legal! There is a photocopied article from The Motorcycling April 29th 1919 & one from The Motor Cycle May 29th 1919 and a photocopied instruction manual. It is of course eligible for historic class (free) road tax and is MOT exempt.

The bike also has an old green log book in which it states ?ˆ?Manufactured and used on road prior to Road Traffic Act 1920?ˆ? - so it may well be a 1919 model.

Cosmetically the machine is in pretty clean and tidy condition. It has been used up until the 1980?ˆ?s and there are old MOTs dating back to the mid 70?ˆ?s.

The lens is missing from the tailight.

Tyres are in excellent condition and are 2. 50 x 8 which are readily available.

I?ˆ™m not saying you could go around the world on this machine but I ?ˆ?m sure it would make an entertaining and fun show-piece and would be nice to preserve in running order!
