Here is a lovely example of an early sixties Matchless G12 in CSR trim. This bike is in very good all round condition. It starts easily and rides and runs well with good brakes . good charging from the dynamo & good working Smiths?ˆ™ 120mph Chronometric speedometer.

The bike comes with V5C registration document with original (transferable) registration 984 ANR.

Frame number is A78185. engine number is 61/G12CSR x7643. This is a genuine CSR engine but for some unknown reason the 7643 part of the engine number is not the original factory stamping.

Date of registration is given as 25th April 1962. but the frame number is from a 1961 G12 so it must have been a while in the showroom before it got sold!

There is an MOT valid until October 2015. The new keeper will have to tax the bike in their own name as the rules have now changed upon transfer of ownership. It is of course eligible for historic ?ˆ?free?ˆ? road tax.

Cosmetically the bike is in very good tidy all round. sound condition. It is not mint!

The paint on the frame is a very good standard of stove enamel. in very good general condition. The red paint on the tinware is also very good quality but there has been several scratches touched in on the tank.

Rear rim is Dunlop original with good but dull original looking spokes. The front rim has terrible chrome but has nice stainless spokes which should be good to go again.

Tyres are Mitas in good condition.

The engine has no fin damage and is apparently oil tight!

The exhaust is in very nice condition. the tank panels are nice chrome. the seat is good. Both side & centre stands are fitted and are both in good order.

This is a pretty authentic looking G12CSR rep which would look just as much  the part outside any roadside cafe this autumn as it would have in the 60?ˆ™s!
