1972 BSA Gold Star 250-SS 250cc Street Scrambler B-25SS

This auction is for a 1972 BSA Gold Star 250 B-25SS. This is the street scrambler version of BSA's 250cc. four-stroke. oil-in-frame. off-road single. BSA offered the 250 in two versions. the Gold Star Street Scrambler B-25SS bike and the Victor Trail B-25T bike. The major differences being the front mudguard. handlebars. footrests and tyres. By all accounts these were a popular little bike both on and off-road when BSA brought them out. Although they were only manufactured from 1971 to 1973 making them fairly rare now. This is a 'matching numbers' bike and the V5 is present and in my name. The mileage reading from the odometer is 13. 92. The bike has had a recent restoration and since I've owned it I've done a carb rebuild. fitted a new battery. put it through an MoT. and had a good check over of the bike. The Gold Star benefits from a spin-on type oil filter upgrade (apparently the original filter setup could be problematic). There is also a shut off valve in the oil feed line with a micro-switch to prevent the bike being started or run with the oil feed shut off. The bike has had non-standard front and rear mudguards. number plate holder and exhaust silencer fitted at some point. This Gold Star also features the optional tachometer and 8" front drum brake. The only bad points I know of is that both fork seals show slight misting after a ride and the paint on the tank has cracked. But given this is a 42 year old bike trail bike I would say it's in pretty good condition. The bike starts easily and runs well and everything seems to function as it should.
