1968 BSA 175cc Bantam. Sports Parts Great Runner. Ideal Ride / Restore Barn Find

For auction here is a 1969 BSA D14 Bantam. This Bantam is the standard Bantam which someone has up graded to some degree to the sports Bantam by putting the high level pipe on and separate chrome headlamp etc. The engine and frame are matching numbers. There is no paperwork with this bike but it does have a tax disc with it. so it will be fairly straight forward to recover the original number. The bike its self is fairly scruffy and the last tax disc is from 1977 . indicating how long this has been out of use. Despite this the bike starts and runs well and I have put a new battery on and all the lights etc work fine. The bike pulls really well and is extremely nippy. so I don. know if its been tuned. but it goes pretty well for a 175 of this period. Lights. brakes. tyres etc all seem OK. so I would think this has a shot at an MOT as it stands. As such this bike is ideal to use as is or ideal to restore. The wheels are scruffy from standing. but I rubbed one area to see how bad they were and it came up pretty well. so I think it just needs a good clean up to make it look better than it is at present. Basically. this is a fairly light project as its all there. basically all functioning as it should but as you can see is a bit shabby from being stood since 1977. But then again. if you. been stuck in a corner since 1977. you. maybe have a few cobwebs right ?. This bike needs getting registered and then it could be put back into use.
