Description

THIS IS A TRADE SALE ON BEHALF OF TBM MOTORCYCLES. They do not have an Ebay account so I am listing it for them. The description of the bike is mine as i see it. This is a scruffy 1954 C11G for restoration or use/fix as is. It has a V5c and original date of registration of 18/02/1954 on the V5. The 'A' plate reg is a bit of a mystery I suspect it was from post 1983 when they wouldnt give the original registration no matter what documents you had but i dont know. It is a transferable number so not stuck to the bike and so an age related number if desired could be requested i am sure but no guarantees as I am not the DVLA!  It has been used on the road fairly recently and WAS taxed but under the new 01/10/14 system the tax disc was kept by the previous owner as it is non transferable. The bike has been declared MOT exempt. personally I do not agree with self declaring your bike safe so I recommend any buyer get an MOT despite it not being required! Note if any faults are found if you get an MOT test done you are buying those faults with the bike!It runs. starting fairly easily and was smokey when first started I think from wet sumping. It seemed to clear but i have to run it again to check. The engine sounded reasonable with no stand alone bangs or rattles. The tick over is a little fast and for some reason will not slow down. The lights and horn work . the horn is a bit muted for my liking. I have not tested the brakes or handling as I am not insured to ride it and its not taxed!!The front tyre is an ancient Michelin 20 inch and peronally I would replace it before using the bike in the wet. but that job and cost will be left for the new owner to do.  Its cosmetic condition is fair to poor with all the paintwork amateur and poor amateur at that. The chrome is okay but the rims are rusty in places but then they are the originals i think. The exhaust downpipe is dented. The headlamp is weird something not quite right there!Overall  a pleasant enough little bike better than some. worse than others but with a certain charm! I have tried to desribe it honestly and any who have bought from me will know I do not 'gild the lily' so hopefully any buyer will not be dissapointed. Obviously when buying a bike viewing is strongly recommended but as the bike is on the Isle of Wight not straightforward. I will. if requested. supply any pictures you may want(of the bike!) or if you prefer to view in person I could bring the bike to Yarmouth ferry port for you to view. As this is a classified advert I will only accept offers after a deposit of ??100 is paid by bank transfer. There are too many offers made then retracted to avoid this sorry as it costs ??15 a time someone does this. Payment is strictly cash or bank transfer prior to collection. Delivery is possible anywhere at my discretion for a charge of ??50(ferry cost) then ??1 per mile. The bike could also be delivered free to Kempton Park autojumble on 06/12/14 if that was convenient. I will try to be helpfull if possible so ask!
