I must regretfully sell my BSA/Imp outfit which I have owned since 1996. When I had it on the road (last in 2002) it proved to be well set up. in fact a real thrill to drive. tracking and steering well ? although I always thought it was a little smoother on left handers ? all the gears. clutch etc. worked. I decided then. along with some other jobs to have the front wheel re-built with an alloy rim to match the back.
As a minimum there are a number of tasks to get the outfit back on the road which may or may not be obvious from the pictures. namely:
? Tank lined for modern petrol
? Overhaul/clean-out carburettors
? Service/repair front brake master cylinder (leaking) and brakes generally
? Replace throttle cable (a new one is supplied)
? New battery required (12V). also all electrics. switch gear etc. . need checking over
? Replace sidecar ??roof?. or fit tonneau
There may well be other jobs. The bike kicks over but I have not attempted to start it bearing in mind the above.
The basic spec. is as follows:
? BSA frame (1960 A7 or A10 from frame no. in V5C on web site ref. )
? Triumph pre-unit 4 speed gearbox
? Norton Roadholder forks
? Hydraulically operated tls front brake (make unknown)
? Norton commando disc rear hub
? 16?? wheels (both alloy rims)
Included in the sale is a spare engine which I believe is of larger capacity and will need checking over (i. e. history unknown). a new Goodyear spare tyre for the sidecar. a new spare water pump (the one on the engine works perfectly well). a new set of piston rings. a service kit for the front brake master cylinder and a photocopy of an Imp engine manual (includes Stromberg carburettors).
Regarding the registration: when I bought the bike I inquired to DVLA about the original (1960) registration. They told me the original number was transferred to another vehicle and at that time this replacement no. was allocated. I have all this paperwork together with V5C (on sorn).
Please note: The bike is for sale to UK bidders only. I will not end the auction early. Please see my other items for sale.
Terms of sale: ??100 deposit by paypal within 5 days of sale. the balance by bank transfer. cash or cheque (cleared). Also please note that the final auction price is exactly that. i. e. non-negotiable.
