For auction here is a BSA D7 Bantam. The engine number indicates that this is a 1965 model with a 1959 engine fitted and as the engine prefix is ED7B this indicates that its one of the first of the Bantams to have battery lighting. This bike has no paperwork present I. afraid so will need re-registering. The bike its self is fairly original. starts and runs OK and lights up. Its very very scruffy and does needs some work. but could be run as is with a little work or is ideal as a restoration project. Basically the tinware all looks original as does the seat and exhaust etc. but it has all been painted red at some point and the paint is peeling. I suppose it possibly could have been a post office bike as they were bright red. The engine seems OK and pulled me around the big yard for several minutes without a problem this afternoon. The clutch is dragging a bit. so needs adjusting. but its not slipping. No nasty noises out of the engine. The lights and horn work. the brake light switch sticks. the parking light only comes on with the main beam. so that needs sorting etc. So. theres minor jobs to do. or as I said. it would be ideal to restore because most of what you need is there and its mostly working. So this is being sold as a light project. far too good to break up and really wanting cosmetics. No reserve. Viewing is welcome. 01246 411977 for an appointment. Collection preferred. but I can arrange delivery within the mainland UK by courier for ??100. Finally. fi you bid. you buy. no tyre kicking excitement afterwards.
