BSA Bantam D7 Project

Having obtained some of a Bantam D7 project I have put together a 95% bike with my shed store. auto jumbles and Ebay listings. I have put it together to try it out and it rides around the garden and gears select and run on the stand with no noises. The engine is willing with no nasty noises but runs rather wet so the carb?ˆ™ and probably timing need further attention. The alternator outputs are good and it is temporally wired though a rectifier to charge the battery. My intention was now to strip and paint it all but after doing this many times before I now feel a bit too old to do that hard work yet again.

It has a new front tyre. front brake shoes. battery and coil. The rest is as you see with some better parts not yet fitted. It has a 1959 frame and 1966 engine the purist will see that some of the other items. like the mudguards and centre tin ware is from a D14 and has been adapted to look near correct. The speedo does not have the correct ratio but with a bit of arithmetic and some paint dots it could serve you and not look out of place.

The missing parts are the wiring loom. headlight reflector/glass. switches. horn. speedo cable seat foam. nd  cover. The rear frame needs a split in a mudguard bracket welded and a missing small threaded tube part made and welded in place. although a simple made bracket would serve in place of this.
