1959 AJS 16C replica Trials iron

Here is a well built fun Trials  iron in excellent running order.

This AJS 350cc is easy to start and sounds beautiful. no mechanical noises and no smoke! It rides really well. albeit on road gearing. (smaller engine sprocket required for trials). Brakes are good . gears & clutch all good.

The bike is road registered. reg number 898 UYH (cannot be transferred to another vehicle). It is MOT exempt and is registered for  Historic Class (free) road tax.

Frame number is A71915. engine number 55/16MS 25884 (numbers match V5C). The bike has a ground clearance of 11".

Cosmetically it is pretty good for a trials bike! The blue paintwork on the frame etc is brushed on old school Hammerite. the tank is a reasonable ivory finish. It is not a show standard paint obviously but a  clean & tidy practical job.

The wheels are very nice Akront Alloys with as new pirelli trials tyres. The hubs are full width AMC type with the central finning skimmed off in the style of the late competition bikes & P11 etc.

The central alloy oil tank and tidy exhaust system add to the practicality of this bike. The footrests are rear mounted folding items and the ground clearance is very good indeed.

There are no broken fins on the engine. overall it?ˆ™s a very nice machine and should be a lot of fun for pre-65 etc.
