1970 BSA Lightning. Beautiful!

You're bidding on a beautiful. very original #s matching 1970 BSA Lightning.  It's kind of a strange example due to the fact that all of the lighting gear was either removed or maybe the bike was ordered this way from the factory? I don't know.  It's obvious by the over all cosmetic condition that this motorcycle has been kept indoors. When I bought it I unloaded it from my enclosed trailer and immediately placed it in my living room! I believe that it may have been restored a very long time ago. The paint is not original but it is almost perfect. Chrome is still very nice with minimal surface rust. tires are old and checked on the side walls but still hold air.  This lightning had not been started or run for at least 20 years until recently. Carburetors were cleaned and adjusted and it now runs very well and has been starting on the first kick.  The original wiring harness and battery tray were also removed and the battery was replaced with a capacitor. The nice part about this bike is that it came with all of the take off parts minus the horns and maybe a few small bits.  All of the take off parts are included and in excellent condition. some are even new old stock and the front fender and stays are definitely New Old Stock. Also included but not pictured is the original correct valve cover. With all of that being said. there are still a few things that should be done to this motorcycle before it is put back into service. The inside of the tank has been cleaned and all grime and rust has been removed but I highly recommend lining it before adding fuel and it will probably need a little more fine tuning to make it run perfectly but it's very close. Please keep in mind that this is a 45 year old motorcycle. it's a VERY nice old machine and it has been very well taken care of. nbsp;but it is not brand new! I've probably missed a few details. The original headlight. tail light. front NOS fender. fender stays. wiring harness. NOS rear brake switch. NOS reflectors that mount under the tank. battery tray. NOS switch gear and two sets of head light fork ears (black and chrome) ARE ALL INCLUDED. There was no more room on ebay for me to post the pictures of these parts.
