1997 Buell S1 Lightning *NICE*

If you've been looking for an unmolested 1996-1998 Buell S1 Lightning that has plenty of life left you've found it. These are getting harder to find. There were only 5000 made during those three years. This one is billet metallic and even more rare. More and more when you do find these they've been chopped or have had some silly mods done to them.Back story:I'm the third owner. The guy I purchased the bike from is a master mechanic who worked at Harley Davidson for years. He said that he purchased it from an older guy who used it to tool around the back roads. The top end of the motor was completely rebuilt by the previous owner to include new pistons and rings. It has the Vance and Hines SSR2 muffler. The carburetor has a DynoJet kit and the motor was dyno tuned. It runs very strong. The previous owner says it runs better and stronger than when it was stock. He is right. It leaks no oil nor uses any. Condition:It's an 18 year old bike. It has nicks and scratches on par with a bike its age; however it's obvious that it was well cared for. The clutch is strong and it shifts with no problems. Finding neutral can be an issue with these transmissions but this one doesn't seem to have that problem. The bike is light and has lots of torque which makes for a fun combination. The exhaust is loud but is not crazy loud. I recently rode with a group of guys and some behind be were making comments like "THAT BIKE SOUNDS AWESOME!" and "THAT EXHAUST NOTE!". It certainly gets a lot of attention and respect. It's a conversation starter at gas stations. The tires have life left. the brakes have life don't squeak and are nice and responsive. Everything works: Horn hi-beam etc. The swingarm has paint chips on the inside from the fender being removed but nothing that is visible from afar or has any impact on performance. I hate to let it go but I'm at a point in my life where I don't have time for it.
