Description

Selling this 2000 Buell X1 Millennium Edition, umbered 214 of 800 produced.

10,432 miles.

Purchased in March 2015 for $3,877.77 via a drunken late-night Ebay bid with the intention of using the bike as a backup / rider while my other motorcycle projects were in “project” state. Bike has clocked under 300 miles since that purchase.

Voltage regulator replaced almost immediately with new as well as battery. Battery kept on trickle charger since replacement and is currently at 100%.

Fuel pump and all intake / gas cap seals replaced July 2016, erviced and fully gone through by HD of Knoxville at over $700.

2 weeks later I dropped the bike at low speed while pulling onto a soft shoulder, equiring replacement of the K&N air filter. The stock headers also suffered a dent.

Stock headers were replaced with NOS ceramic-coated headers ($500) and fresh exhaust gaskets. Also replaced oxygen sensor while I was at it. Come to find out, ended up with the EUROPEAN headers with a one-inch outlet instead of the 2.5 inch outlet on American models. I have an adapter from Summit racing which will allow this pipe to mate up with the Vance and Hines SS2 exhaust. Original exhaust also included – should be an easy fix at a competent muffler shop.

Replaced original breather setup with Benchmark breather bolts for cleaner look and to prevent oil puke,

Stock tank and windscreen decals have been removed, was intending to replace them with something that wasn’t orange. Replacement decals are easy to come by. Turn signals have also been removed but stock wiring is 100% intact to accommodate replacement signals.

There are a few small nicks on the frame paint (assuming from road debris, hey were on the bike when I got it but cosmetic only) and a small scuff on the drive side of the aluminum tail section which should easily smooth out. The plastic / carbon is in excellent condition.

As mentioned, his bike was intended to be a “backup” bike and maybe down the road to be converted to carburetor. The new fuel pump put this plan on the back burner. At his point, ’m tired of replacing stock parts and have lost interest in the bike and need to focus on completing two other Sportster-based motorcycle projects before spring.

I order to be road-ready, his bike will need to have the V&H exhaust mated to the new NOS headers via the included adapter, R to have the stock headers (included) reinstalled for a direct fit. Since I have decided to sell the bike, ’ll leave that up to the buyer. Either way, t’s a less-than-one-hour project.

I’m selling on Ebay in order to avoid the hassle of the local Craigslist (no, will not trade the bike for your XBox and 30 lbs of beef jerky OR for your rusted-out four-wheeler that has a hornet’s nest in the motor.) or having to deal with the entitled skinny-jeaned millennials on the social media swap-sites. I’m hoping that this bike will find an owner with a true appreciation for these fun, aw, nd esoteric machines. All old / “prone to failure” parts have been replaced so operation should be as worry-free as possible for a 17-year-old motorcycle.

Bike is located in Knoxville, N. I’d prefer local pickup if possible. I’ve also had GREAT luck with using U Ship for bikes I’ve bought and sold in the past and will work with you on pickup from my home. My work schedule makes it impossible for me to deliver. Payment in full prior to delivery.

I’m starting the bidding for this bike at $2,200 with no reserve. Any less than that and it’s not worth it for me to sell.

Thanks for looking.
