Offered here is a 1998 Buell S1 Lightning in EXCELLENT condition.   Only 14K original miles. with clean California title in my name and current registration good through January 2015. This bike RUNS GREAT and LOOKS GREAT - the RARE Molten Orange over Nuclear Blue color scheme has to be one of the most outrageous factory paint jobs EVER. this scoot is eye-popping gorgeous. everything about it screams HOOLIGAN bike! Sadly for me (as my S. O. keeps informing me) apparently my hooligan days are over. so it is time to find a new home for this beast. If you like the idea of a huge engine with a pair of wheels and a seat strapped on more or less as an afterthought. this may well be the bike for you!

I've probably had more than a hundred different motorcycles over the years. and I would have to say this bike is right at the very top of the list in terms of the GRIN factor!  This thing is an absolute BLAST to ride - yank the throttle in any gear (first of all. good luck keeping the front wheel on the ground!) and prepare to have your arms stretched by the 100+HP and monster torque coming out of the big V-twin!  The massive engine fires up immediately. shakes like a Harley at idle but smooths out beautifully from 2000 RPM right on up. everything works great. brand new Dunlop rubber on the front. plenty of good tread on the matching rear tire. brand new battery. fresh oil & filter. Extras include large capacity gas tank. Forcewinder intake. Vance & Hines performance exhaust. Corbin seat. carbon fiber rear fender and more. Only flaws are a couple of the typical "Buell Bubbles" on the tank and some light oxidation here and there on the aluminum. otherwise this bike is not far removed from the showroom floor in terms of overall cosmetics. as you can see in the photos below.  IN MY OPINION. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST OF THE EARLY TUBE FRAME BUELLS. DESTINED TO BECOME A FUTURE CLASSIC!  Note that the VIN number ends in 0001. which I would assume means this is the very first S1 produced for the 1998 model year.
