Description

This OSSA belongs in a MUSEUM and is investment grade. Awesome. complete nut and bolt restoration. this is the nicest OSSA I have ever seen. 1974 250 Phantom that looks BRAND NEW. Never started. or had oil. or gas in it since the restoration. Showroom condition. I have collected OSSAs since the 70's and this is the best one I have ever seen. This bike is stored inside on display. and is a conversation piece of Motocross history. Not only does it look awesome. they are FAST and LIGHT at 199 Lbs dry weight! They did very well on the race scene in their day. and still stand out at the vintage bike races. I was told by one of the most prominent racers that a 250 Phantom is like bringing a gun to a knife fight on race day. This following information was passed onto me from the person that did the restoration; The Engine is zero time since overhaul by a longtime Ossa Mechanic. 1st over with new piston & rings by Kieth Lynas in CA. It has had the heavy rod conversion done by Alex Snoop in NY. All new bearings and seals. New primary chain. Transmission has been gone through and gears replaced as needed. It has been shimmed correctly and has the new style shift selector. New output shaft sprocket and chain of course. 54 Bing Carburetor. nbsp; new float and screen & gasket. The Exhaust is original along with the repacked silencer. It does have a round tube welded along the bottom of the exhaust to help protect it. This seems to be a period modification. The fenders. airbox and tank are all original to the bike. Tank has been cleaned and sealed with Caswells tank sealer. The paint on the fiberglass is a urethane basecoat & clear. New stripe kit from Keith Lynas. New Tank badges. repro of the originals and new cap and seal and tank petcocks from Ossaworld. The Frame Is powdercoated with a high gloss black. Front and rear hubs and brake backing plates powdercoated high gloss to match. Engine side cases powdercoated Matte black to match cylinder . head and engine cases. Original Aluminum Swingarm. No cracks or breaks or repairs. New swingarm bushings. New chrome on the kickstart. pegs and rear brake rod. Also. the front hub spoke supports are chrome as well as the front and rear axles & axle nuts & washers. Clutch adjustment cover and clutch actuation lever & front and rear wheel spacers & chain tighteners & chain guides. All remaining aluminum pieces are polished. All new cables. nbsp; levers and perches. New Handlebars & grips. Original Ossa quickturn throttle. New seat foam and seat cover. Repro fiberglass front number plate. Original Akront rims with new Buchanan spokes and Chrome nipples. Heavy spokes on the rear wheel. Of course new wheel bearings. Dunlop D756 tires. Betor Shocks. Original Ossa rear Sprocket. Engine #M182637 Frame #__________ Label is missing. Apparently you can get these from "frankiemountain" on eBayOriginal Title included. NOTE title states 1975 however the Engine # on the bike and on the # on the title is 1974. I have been told by experts it was not uncommon for a 1974 bike to be sold in 1975 and have a 1975 title. I am reluctant to part with this OSSA as it could very well be the nicest OSSA 250 Phantom in the world. This is an investment grade motorcycle. SHIPPING NOTE: Pick up would be preferred. However. for an additional $200. I am willing to take the Bike to the Forward Air dock in Sacramento. and package the bike in a container with 4 tie down straps. MISC NOTES: Motorcycle Stand not included. I have had numerous people making offers. asking for the reserve. etc. please bid if you are interested. It will go to the highest bidder over my reserve. THANK YOU!ALSO: I have added a photo of the other side of the Bike per many requests. It's as nice as the other side. Thanks.
