Description

1979 BULTACO STREAKER 125 2 STROKE STREET BIKE INSANELY RARE FACTORY CAFE RACER Up for auction is my rare '79 Bultaco Streaker 125 with only 2. 65 miles.  It's a nimble fun little bike that looks great and is capable of speeds over 70mph. Perfect for someone thats looking for a bit of nostalgia in their life. I had it in my foyer for quite a while. it's an interesting conversation piece and shows like fine art.  It is rumored that as few as 28 Streakers crept into the U. S. before the EPA banned sales of highway operated 2 stroke vehicles. The Streaker was truly ahead of its time ?ˆ“ from the steering stabilizer and cast aluminum wheels to its modern hydraulic disc brakes.  I absolutely love the attention to detail on this bike and cafe racer styling. It is definitely a unique piece to add to any collection!Overall the bike shows rather well for its age. It sports an OG California blue license plate with its 1980 registration sticker still in place.  Every original nut and bolt with factory engraving remains on the bike. Both 35 year old tires are still on the bike! They are cracking a bit due to age but still hold air. Paint has begun to check and the gel coat on the tank is flaking a bit too. please see pictures. I hope the new owner will fall love with the patina on the bike as I did. it shows beautifully as an all original "survivor". It would do real well as a preservation class entry. I was going to restore it but its just too awesome the way it sits. I even left on the original grips which are a testament to it's age. Although this is one of the last street bikes Bultaco ever produced. parts aren't too difficult to find.  Many engine internals are shared with other Tacos and can be ordered from Bultaco. com - If this is your first Taco. you will quickly find out there is a pretty close knit Bultaco community willing to help out.   I am including an original parts manual - using this you can cross reference many of the mechanical parts with more mainstream Bultaco models.  Recently brought out of an 18 year slumber. it now runs and rides.  I cleaned the carb thoroughly. added a new air filter and spark plug. I was able to get it fired up after quite a few kicks.  I drained the pre-mix immediately after running the bike because modern ethanol gasoline is supposedly not very good friends with fiberglass. If you plan to use the bike often. I would coat the interior of the tank.  Front and rear brakes were bled and work great.  Here is a video of the Taco running:http://youtu. be/HSxNxRmMFLABuyer is responsible for shipping. I know Haulbikes. com is a flat $525 anywhere in the U. S. right now.  Alternatively I have a resource for deeply discounted shipping to Cincinnati. Atlanta or Dallas. Let me know if you are in one of those areas.  If you are in San Diego. you are welcome to come check out the bike.  Bike comes with a clean CA title and bill of sale. I've set the reserve well below what I believe to be current market value.  If you have any questions please feel free to text or call  858 472 O777.  Thanks for looking!
