You are looking at a non-RV that we took on trade towards an RV. It is a privately-owned unit that was traded in to our dealership - it is NOT something we bought at an auction. it is NOT a repo. it is NOT a salvage piece. We avoid items like those. for the same reason you do - you just don't know what you're getting. But if a customer wants to trade an item like this in. towards an RV purchase. well. equity is equity. and if we think we can sell it. we'll take it on trade! Right off the bat. I'm a sportbike-guy. I love me some horsepower! I also love sport-touring - nothing like cranking through the Dragon. or the Blue Ridge Parkway. having a blast. with all your camping gear and luggage right there with you! No need to drag hard parts on a bagger or put up with crappy handling and brakes. just because you want to actually CARRY stuff!! And this Spyder. is a great way to sport-tour - good power. velvety-smooth engine. great handling. nice transmission. tons of space with a front trunk. rear top case. and two side bags (as well as a little center-console-mounted "glovebox" for in-transit access). and excellent seating positions for both the rider and the passenger. The Corbin seat is nice and comfortable. although the previous owner tells us they never did hook up the seat-heat circuits. Not sure what all is involved in that. but I'd imagine it can't be all that hard to do. From the factory. as the RT-S model. this Spyder came with adjustable windscreen; heated rider and passenger handgrips; 4 speaker stereo with iPod input and speed-sensitive volume control; fog lights; accent lights; electronic rear suspension adjustment / auto-leveling; secondary gauges; and it's finished in a beautiful Pure Magnesium (silver) paint that I couldn't find any marks on. The chrome looks great. and the tires look like they're brand new. It starts. runs. drives. handles. brakes. and shifts like brand new. This Spyder has had a sheltered life - it's been very well cared for. and it shows! And the only non-factory parts I have been able to find on it. are the Corbin; the trailer tow package; and the luggage rack on the topcase (although the trailer package and the luggage rack could possibly be Can-Am parts. I can't find any markings one way or the other though). Power-wise. the Spyder has plenty. I own a Buell 1125 with a Rotax twin in it (the same company who makes the Spyder's engine). and boy do those Austrians know how to make a motor! This Spyder hasn't seen anywhere near the abuse I've put my poor 1125 through. but if my bike's engine is any indication. these Spyders can take whatever you'll dish out. and come back asking for "more!". They're smooth. powerful. durable. well-engineered. and easy to control and ride. This particular Spyder is no exception - it does everything just the way its supposed to do. and I didn't notice a single glitch or hiccup in it at all. As noted up above. check out my other listings - we do also have the Can-Am RT-622 trailer that was traded in with this Spyder (that is. unless it sells!). They're listed separately because not everyone wants a trailer; and chances are people who are looking for that trailer. already have a Spyder. We can sell them together. or we can sell them separately - the prices in each auction are for THAT ITEM ONLY. so if you want both. you've gotta buy both. Another reason they're listed separately (and nearly 10 days apart) is my boss was thinking very seriously about keeping this Spyder. Unfortunately (for him. anyway). he just isn't going to have time to enjoy it and instead of looking at it under a layer of dust in his garage. plugged into a battery tender. you get a shot at it. He took it home for about a week. he was planning to buzz it around and have some fun on it and get some fresh air after one very loooooong cold winter. but he couldn't get time to even do that! He rode it home. it sat in his garage. finally he just rode it back to work one morning and said "ok. sell it. if I can't find time to use it now I know I won't find time later in the season". If you look at the trailer auction. you'll see it's black. and this Spyder is silver. Yes. they were traded in together. they just don't have the same color paint on them.
