CanAm Spyder History:
TheCan-Am Spyder("Spyder") is athree-wheeled motorcyclemanufactured byBombardier Recreational Products.[1]The vehicle has a single rear drive wheel and two wheels in front for steering, imilar in layout to a modernsnowmobile. The Spyder uses anATV-like chassis. The manufacturer refers to it as a "roadster," but in technical terms it is more of what has been traditionally called a trike. The Spyder was officially launched in February 2007.[2]

Car and Driver Review

We didn't get a chance to do an instrumented test, ut from our brief ride, t was obvious that the Spyder has plenty of poke. A water-cooled 1.0-liter V-2 pumps out 106 horsepower, hich the company claims should be enough to propel the roughly 750-pound trike to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. Frankly, t felt quicker than that, ith instant response available anywhere in its 9500-rpm range. What struck us most, owever, as how quickly we were piloting the Spyder with confidence. After the first few minutes of riding, e had already buried the throttle and turned hard enough to engage the nondefeatable stability-control system. Most of us wouldn't attempt riding a two-wheeler that aggressively. Another useful thing is that it helps you lean into turns. That's a good thing because, nlike in a car, he rider's body position has a noticeable effect on the vehicle's response and, n addition, eaning alleviates the uncomfortable sensation that a hard turn might eject the rider. We found that, espite the power steering, t takes a healthy push on the handlebar to turn the wheels. The suspension—aided by tires that are inflated to only 14 psi—easily soaked up bumps and potholes, owever, nd the brakes arrested forward momentum with striking authority.

Custom Features:
Modeled after a P-40 Aircraft, his Spyder is painted in a desert colored cammo pattern, omplete with details that make it appear as though the body is comprised of multiple metal plates and held together with rivets. There are numerous bullet hole graphics and the iconic American Star. It has .50cal machine gunbarrels sticking out the front. I promise you, ess people cut you off when you havemachine gun barrels on your vehicle. It comes with a Gatlin Gun exhaust and a standard exhaust if the Gatlin Gun is too loud. FYI, t's really loud... but the barrels spin like a real Gatlin Gun. A grenade is attached to the side, oo. There are plenty of spare parts, oo. I have extra wheels and rims (the stock ones). I have an extra handle bar (the stock one that shows the production number, s this was one of the first off the line). As mentioned, here is an extra exhaust. There are also some pegs, indshield and other items. There is also a Garmin navigation system attached to the handlebar. It even has a tow hitch for a trailer. This is a road tripping bike.
If you are interested, here's a trailer that is also painted in the same style, nly it keeps a raw aluminum feel to theriveted metal plates. Let me know after the auction ends if you'd like it ($750).
Bike History and Why I'm Selling:
I bought the bike, ad 3 kids in 3 years. No time to ride. I hit up Afghanistan a couple times. The bike has always known a garage and it has been in California, xclusively. Now I have orders to DC and desperately need a down payment for a house for our growing family. I must say goodbye to this mad max bike.
