Questions etc. please call (801)787-7502. 1952 Cushman Eagle Motor scooter. Vintage. early model. Barrel spring front forks. Rare- single speed with no transmission. I purchased this scooter last fall intending to give it to my 14 year old son to drive. My wife however. did not like that plan AT ALL!!She is convinced that he will kill himself instantly if he rides it. I have talked her in to letting him get an off-road 4 wheeler instead. So. in order to keep the peace. I am selling it. I hate to tell her. but I think an off-road 4 wheeler is probably more dangerous that this scooter. but oh well. The scooter:As mentioned above. I purchased this last fall. It was completely restored about a decade ago (engine rebuild. new paint etc) and then sat in a lobby/showroom of a business ever since that time- never being used or driven. When I got the scooter. the gas tank had some kind of lining on the inside of the tank that had flaked off and looked like it may cause problems. so I found another tank (original and correct for the year- NOT a reproduction) and had the paint matched and had it painted. I also bought a new carburetor just to be safe and installed it. The scooter fired right up and runs great. I took it out for a spin and the chain promptly came off (master link came off). The chain did a bit of damage to the chain guard when it came off (see photos). I think the master link wasn't installed properly or maybe the wheel wasn't aligned with the front sprocket or something. Anyway. I got another master link and re-installed the chain. I guess the bike was all re-assembled after restoration but was never really test driven. Anyway- it was no big deal but it did further convince my wife that it was unsafe for our son to operate it. The paint is nice and yellow. Looks great. Does have some minor chips and scratches. but nothing too serious- other than the damage to the chain guard as shown- this would be an easy fix though. The scooter kicks over nicely and starts easily. As mentioned. I put a new carburetor on it and it idles nicely but I haven't made any adjustments. The lights appear to all be there but I'm not sure how to get them to work. The person that I purchased it from said that this model (Model 762) was only available for about a year or so and is quite rare. The model has no rear luggage rack. seat pad. or transmission. There may be other things different but I can't remember what he said. Anyway. please look the photos over and if you have any questions. feel free to give me a call at 801-787-7502. If I don't answer- leave a message and I'll call you back. I may list the item for sale locally as well. so I reserve the right to end the auction anytime (if the reserve isn't met at the time). I can also email a video clip of the scooter running if you are interested. I did not receive a title when I purchased this scooter (I understand that is quite common of these older scooters). I did find a service on the internet where you can get a title with a bill of sale. Scooter sold with Bill of Sale only. Scooter is sold as-is. where-is with no warranty expressed or implied. Scooter is located near Salt Lake City. Utah. NOTICE. If desired. I am willing to palletize and crate this scooter for shipment. I would charge $100 to crate. I get EXCELLENT shipping rates via truck and can ship it from dock-to-dock for quite reasonable. So. if you have access to a loading dock (at your work. or your friends work or ??). it could be shipped to you. If you don't have access to a dock. it could be delivered to your residence with a truck and lift-gate for about $50 extra. I had prices for a few destinations checked and found the following dock-to-dock shipping charges: to West Coast (Los Angeles. CA): $160to East Coast (South Carolina): $285Insurance. if desired. would be extra. Add $100 for crate. If buyer would rather make their own shipping arrangements. I will do all that I can on my end to assist. I know Uship (uship. com) is a great and affordable method.
