Description

Up for your consideration is a 1959 Cushman Standard Eagle that has been completely restored to almost museum quality.   The frame was in excellent like new condition so I went ahead and sandblasted it.   Hand sanded to a smooth finish and rounded out all of the sharp corners to help the powder coat stay on.   It is a powder coated frame. There is no bondo on the frame. The frame is very smooth with only  a couple of very small dents. The new parts include the front shroud. the chrome light assembly. the rear fender. the rubber fork covers. the 10 inch tires along with the polished aluminum wheels.  All new chrome original parts are. Exhaust pipe. seat springs. rear carrier. fork screws. both chain guards. the shifter and all of the link rods for the shifter. brake and clutch parts. The brake and clutch pedals. motor shroud. gas tank band. nbsp; brake handle . both brake cam arms. nbsp; engine mount. chain sprocket on transmission. handlebars. key switch. light switch. clutch release arm. bell crank clutch pivot. tail light base. front and rear brake backing plates. nbsp; dash plate acorn nut. rear fender brackets. Kickstand spring and cup along with a polished stainless steel kickstand.  New polished aluminum handle bar risers. New dash plate.   New gas filter bowl. All of the fork bearings and seals were replaced.   All of the wheel bearings and seals were replaced. All new brake shoes.   New clutch lining.   New transmission sprocket and bearings.   Has chain drive from engine to transmission and to the rear sprocket.   Has new chains.  The transmission was in excellent condition so I still gave it new bearings it was cleaned assembled and refilled with the proper oil.   The wiring harness is new. The chrome horn is new.   The engine was totally gone over and received new valves. valve guides. piston. rings and seals along with new crank bearings.   Most of the mounting hardware used is polished stainless steel to help the scooter last another  55 years. There are a lot more new parts on the scooter to make it as good or better than new. The paint job was done by a professional body shop in New Braunfels.   The paint is clear coated and polished out to eliminate any signs of orange peel. You won?ˆ™t find any.   The combination of beautiful black paint . chrome and polished stainless steel hardware just can?ˆ™t be beat.   The engine and parts along with the transmission was painted and clear coated. The restoration was hard work and took 6 months. Inside of gas tank was coated so it would never rust. It was upgraded with a mikuni carb to prevent gas leaks and greatly improve starting it along with the acceleration improvement. It just doesn?ˆ™t get any better than this.   The speedometer is new along with the cable and gear assembly. The handle grips are not original but are better for you because they reduce vibration while driving. The only eyesore item is that two of the engine fins were welded back on.    Please take a look at all of the photos and see the meticulous attention to detail and cost  that was put into this restoration.
