"Oldtimer" Custom Built Harley Davidson Springer Softail- 1 of 1 HD Cycles build

This bike was built in 1996 by the renowned Canadian custom builder Donnie Petersen. Donnie's bikes have won awards for over 3 decades throughout Canada and the USA. Donnie is a regular contributor to several Harley magazines including American Iron on tech subjects. His shop HD Cycles turned out countless custom builds over the years. The concept of this Bike was dreamed up by the owner after looking over the histroy of Harley Davidson. Loving the look of older bikes. it was designed to depict the early era charm and character of a knuckle of pan. but with the reliability of a new Evolution engine and the smoothness of a rubber mount softail frame. The frame is from Tripoli while the engine/transmission. seat. springer front end and several other parts were ordered straight from Harley through Pete's Sales and Service and were "out of the box" new. All parts were purchased new. this is NOT a scrap parts build. There has been obvious attention to detail. The cats eye dash. tombstone rear light. beach bars. leather pouch. mud flap. and battery cover. head light-runnning light. fish tail exhaust (also rubber mounted). chrome engine trims. braided cables. it goes on and on. The more you know about bikes. the more you will notice. While built as a show bike. OLDTIMER can certainly be driven. and has been. One trip from Pembroke. ON was down through New York State. On it's last tour it was taken for a 275 mile one day ride after it recieved a complete service from Pete's. It didn't miss a beat. OLDTIMER has recieved several 1sts and no less than 2nd each time it was taken to a show. By not having a Harley frame. it most often competes in "radical class". While not shown in about 12 years. I'm sure with a good detailing it would still bring home some silver if put on display again. This bike is not an "old parts bike". It was professionally built by a renowned builder with "out of the crate" main mechanicals straight from Harley Davidson. The mileage on it is accurate and it is typically only taken our a handful of times a year OLDTIMER is being offered with a reserve of roughly 1/3 the price to built it back in 1996.
