Description

a RareOpportunityto own a Classic .. this is a 1957 Royal Enfield "Indian" Chopper ...From 1955 to 1959 Royal Enfields were painted red and marketed in the USA as Indian Motorcycles by the Brockhouse Corporation who had control of the Indian Sales Corporation (and therefore Indian Motorcycles) and had stopped manufacturing all American Indians in the Springfield factory in 1953. But Americans were not impressed by thebadge engineeringand the marketing agreement ended in 1960 and from 1961 Royal Enfields were available in the US under their own name. The largest Enfield 'Indian' was a 700cc twin named the Chief like its American predecessors ......... I bought this chopper from a dealer in Central Pennsylvania who made sure it was clean ... But with that said there is No Tittle .. I will sell with a bill of sale but with No Tittle ... this bike seems to be complete .. I have never had it running but those who have seen it with the knowledge to get it running said there should be no problems .. I would like to keep this bike but i simply have to many and no time to complete .. I have listed many pics please check them out.. and I will answer any questions that I can .. anopportunityto own a true survivor from the 1960's is rareespecially one as rare a an "Indian" .. good luck in your bidding ...

I just received this message from the great people at "battlegraphics" .....Graham Scarth chairman of the Royal Enfield Owners Club in the UK confirms that based on the motor number you provided and factory records: "Engine # SMR 4409 is from an Indian Apache despatched from Redditch in June 1957 to the Brockhouse depot at West Bromwich (UK) for subsequent export." The Apache is a rare model. Graham asks that you let him know the additional number that should appear on the front of the crankcase so he can add that to the factory records. (I believe this number relates the motor to its transmission information the club is trying to gather). All best........... Don't let this RareOpportunity to own n "Old School" Classic slip away ..... Good Luck !!

I was told that being that old and where it came from there may never have been a tittle issued ... I do know the bike is researched and came back clean ... I will supply a bill of sale along with the owners names I have.. there should be noproblemhaving a new tittle issued in your name ... I hope this helps ...
