2001 Custom Built Chopper Battle Of Shiloh Tribute Bike

I have owned this custom chopper since 2002, nd it is time for someone else to enjoy this wonderful and amazing motorcycle. Because of some back issues, s well as just not having as much time to enjoy it, have decided to part with my pride and joy. I purchased the bike from the original owner who commissioned the bike. It was build by RPM Cycle Fabrication in North Carolina, nd no expense was spared when this bike was built. Only the highest quality parts were used on this build, nd I have copies of the original build sheets showing all the parts, s well as the costs, or all the components used for this one of a kind custom. Not only were the best parts used, he custom paint on this bike is a real head turner. I have not seen this level of quality airbrush work, ut on very few other bikes. There are very few nicks or scratches in the paint after all this time. It has always been very well taken care of, nd because of the high quality of the work, hould last for many years to come. The bike odometer shows just shy of 8,500 miles.

So now on to the bike! Please look closely at the pictures and you can judge for yourself as to the great work done on this bike. I will attempt to list as many of the items as possible as best I can:

Frame: Chopper Guys Swedish Softail Frame – This is a 6x6 frame – 6” stretch in the downtubes and 6” stretch in the backbone with 38 deg neck angle. The softail frame is very well designed and rides very well with the chrome softail shocks mounted under the frame and transmission. I once changed the shocks trying to soften up the ride and make it more comfortable, nly to return back to the originals. The chassis has been covered in White Powder Coat and is amazingly durable. There are only a few scrapes on the bottom of the tubes from moving it on and off the lift and in and out of the trailer, o it’s extremely durable!

Motor: This is an original HD 80” motor that has been massaged into a 98” design. The motor has original HD cases, rank, ods and heads, ut that is about all that is HD. Before the motor was assembled, he cases, eads and jugs were also powder coated white to almost disappear into the frame. The motor was dyno run by the original owner, nd he told me that it put out just shy of 105 HP. It has 660 Red Shift Cams and 10.5 compression pistons. The heads have been opened up with oversize valves and has been machined for dual plugs, nd has Nitrous injection ports installed, ut Nitrous was never installed or used on the motor. It runs very well, nd has never been touched since it was built. It has always amazed me how well this bike runs. I have never touched the S&S Super G carb since I’ve owned it, nd it always starts! The exhaust is Jesse James West Coast Choppers Hell Bent pipes. The carb is adjusted perfectly, nd the chrome on the pipes is almost perfect with very little discoloring. Timing and electronics are handled by a Dyna HI-4 Ignition and Dyna 3 ohm dual plug coils, ith a Thunderheart wire harness. I removed the original air cleaner and breathers which vented to outside (very dirty) and replaced that system with a hawgs breath internal breather system (much cleaner) and added a performance Yaffee air cleaner with a K&N oval air cleaner. The only work ever done to the motor was to replace some leaky rocker box gaskets. The rocker cover spacers are painted in a confederate grey with machined text in yellow reading “Brothers in Arms” and “Lost But Not Forgotten”.

Transmission: The transmission is a Rev Tech Slick Shift 6 speed that was disassembled and powder coated white to match the rest. The transmission shifts smoothly and runs down the highway very easily at 70 mph.

Drive System: The belt drive system is both Karata and Billet-for-U and Pro Clutch. I have replaced the inner primary main trans bearing when the starter gear screws came loose. The clutch starter gear, crews and basket were all replaces with original replacement parts. The belt drive system works very well and is quiet. The oil filter was mounted to the inner primary with the filter inside the belt drive. It is very easy to change the filter without getting oil everywhere. The inner primary plate was also powder coated white to match the rest. The 1 1/8” final drive belt was replaced about 6 yrs ago and still looks like new.

Front End: The front end has 12” over fork tubes with 6 deg RC Components trees. The lower legs are Dave Perewitz smooth design with hidden axle. The front end has been completely rebuilt with new tubes, eals and gaskets a few years ago, ince the tubes were getting quite scratched and the chrome didn’t look as good as I wanted.

Sheet Metal: The gas tank is a hand built steel tank with a Dakota Digital Square Speedo mounted in a shrouded setup in the center of the tank. The front and rear fenders are both Jesse James Diablo designs. The rear fender has Jesse’s internal fender struts as well.

Wheels and Brakes and Controls: All these parts are Performance Machine. The wheels, rake rotors and drive pulley are all called Vintage. The front brake is a 6 piston PM 11.5” brake and rotor, nd the rear is an inside pulley drive side brake and 4 piston caliper design, riginally designed by PM. Front foot controls are PM Classics. The hand controls are PM contour style with PM 3 button switch housings and Ness throttle housing. The wheels are shod in Avon Tires: 21” 2.15 front and 18” 200mm wide rear. I have a new rear tire that goes with the bike, s well as all the parts I have for it.

Other stuff: The drag style bars are mounted to the trees with Choppers Inc 6” tall Six Gun Risers powder coated white to match, ith the riser caps polished for contrast. The grips are also Choppers Inc Six Gun polished parts. The rear brake light is a LED Six Shooter part that looks like a revolver cylinder. Very Cool! The original rear view mirror was a hand made rebel flag that was pretty hard to see out of, o it was replaced with 2 new PM style small oval mirrors. The custom rebel flag coil cover with top motor mount is very nice as well. The original license plate mount was replaced for a swing arm mount design, ince the original mounted on the frame and was so low, t scraped in just about any left hand corner! The Perse rear foot pegs are also the rear LED turn signals. Front turn signals are Pro1 mounted under the lower tree. The headlight is a Headwinds Smooth 5 3/4” design. The seat is a LePera original seat that was reshaped and recovered with a custom rebel flag design that flows from the seat into the paint design on the rear fender. A rear stick on seat pad comes as well. There are many other bits and pieces that are too numerous to name. The original build sheets and all the information I have comes with it as well.

Paint: The paint is multiple coat white with red white and blue rebel flag design, louds and tears with transparent white pearl over the top. The tank has an amazing image of confederate solders from the battle of Shiloh raising the rebel flag during battle. Every place there looks like a tear in the paint, here is a portion of a rebel flag in the background. The paint alone was $5k!

The original build sheet shows the original price for the parts when built was just shy of $46,000!

Take a look at all the pics. Ask all your questions and I will answer what I can. I will entertain reasonable offers only, ut don’t waste my time asking if I’ll take your 86 Honda Gold Wing on trade. I don’t need to sell this, ut I just hate to see it sit and not be enjoyed.

The bike is registered in Michigan as an assembled bike. Bike can be picked up in Michigan. If the buyer arranges shipping, will work with the shipping company as best I can. Bike is sold as is with no written or expressed warranty. When you see this bike you can do nothing but appreciate the work that went into it. Auction may end at any time, s I am also listing this bike locally.
