VW TRIKE FRAME AND BODY. 1970's. A PERFECT WINTER PROJECT. NO RESERVE

Up for auction is a VW TRIKE FRAME AND BODY. This was built in the 1970's. I bought this to restore in the 1990's. It had a 1971 VW duel port 1600 motor, nd a semi-auto transmission (transaxle). The fiberglass body was painted in a bright metalflake blue. There were scrapes, nd scratches, nd a couple of minor cracks. At that time, thought this would be a cool project. I took it all apart, nd there it sat for a few years. Someone came along and wanted the trans, o I sold it. I never did any more than repair the glass body, nd prime it. A couple of months ago the motor was sold. Now I know for sure I will never finish this thing, o here it goes. The frame is very solid. It consists of all VW parts from the torsion bar back. The front end is a '70 something YAMAHA. It has duel disk brakes. In between is a home made frame, hat has an awful lot of steel in it. Probably overkill, ut that's better than weak. The fiberglass body has been repaired, rimed, nd undercoated. It will need some prep before painting, ut is very solid. It has Chevy 15" wheels, ounted with adaptors to the VW hubs. The wheels are chrome, ut have some rust. The front wheel is great, ith a very good Dunlop tire. The rear tires will need to be replaced sooner or later. It still has the shifter installed for the VW semi-auto trans. So, hat does this thing need? A motor, ransaxle, ear brakes, iring, auges, ead and tail lights, aint and upholstery. Oh, robably a lot more that I'm not thinking of. If you have that rusty old beetle out behind the garage that you are going to restore, t should supply everything you need. This willmake a super winter project for the right person. NO RESERVE. This is for pick-up only. The buyer can arrange shipping if desired. This trike tows very well with the front wheel on a cargo carrier that goes in your hitch. It's dimentions are 66" wide at the rear wheels, nd 10' 6" long, f you are going to trailer it.
