Description

Selling a custom 1984 BMW R80RT brat for a customer and friend of ours. He is selling this build to fund his next project (Vintage VW Bus). We built this bike to what we thought a tasteful BMW brat would be if it would “blacked out”. The bike is titled and registered in his name. The R80’s weight was trimmed down by getting rid of any unnecessary parts. The sub-frame was shortened and re-hooped to for new newly leather brat style seat. A small fender was cut and trimmed, hen welded to the end of the hoop to hold the new LED taillight. The entire bike has been gone through and rebuilt from the floor up. Every nut, asher, nd bolt has been re-plated in chrome. Some hardware was replaced with button head Allen screws for a cleaner look. The tank and headlight were painted in a two-stage black using PPG products. The frame, wing arm, orks, ct. have been freshly powder coated. The frame has been gone through and de-tabbed. The wiring loom has been stripped down and rerouted to hide most of the wiring throughout the bike. The front fender has been cut, hortened, nd re-welded a more appropriate size. The rims were powder coated in a satin black and wrapped with new firestone radials for a vintage look. New black ultra low-rise 7/8” handlebars and lowbrow grips. The throttle and clutch were fitted with new custom length Motion Pro cables. The carburetors have been media blasted with baking soda and rebuilt with OEM BMW parts and new K&N cone filters. The motor was cleaned, repped, nd painted in a satin black to contrast the glossy paint and frame. The exhaust was shortened for weight and fitted with shorty mufflers and are now tucked right under the foot pegs. We love the sound of these pipes now.

Let me know if you have any more questions or if you would like to check the bike out in person, he bike is in the San Diego area.

Please no trades or asking what the reserve is, his is an auction and it will sell to the highest bidder. Will help with arranging shipping at the winning bidder’s expense.

The last two pictures are of a CB160 I had built a few years ago and a CL110 replica (CL175 sloper engine) I currently ride (we won an award for this build at The One Moto Show in 2015)
