Description

1999 Full Custom Springer Soft Tail - One Owner

Full Custom means this is a hand-built motorcycle, ot a Harley that has been customized. It was built in Florida by a Custom Cycle shop in Del Ray Beach. I traded a 1965 Corvette Coupe for it so the original value was estimated to be between $32,000 and $35,000.

DRIVETRAIN: Engine is an S&S 96 cubic inch. It runs VERY well and has a very distinct thump at an idle but smooths out right away. Carburetor is a Super G. Transmission is a Total Performance 5 speed and it shifts very smoothly and has great ratios. Although this is an older build, his motorcycle runs like new because it started out as a pure show motorcycle. Several years ago I rode this motorcycle from Colorado Springs, O to Sturgis, D and back with absolutely no issues. The steering is great and the rake looks good and is not cumbersome. The primary drive is a belt drive (dry primary). Secondary drive is also a belt drive (this is the drive that on other bikes can be chains or drive shafts.

BODY: Frame is an Atlas brand, ade in California, SA! Look at the quality of the welds on the front rake photo. Wheels are twisted spoke and shine in the sun. Hurst controls and brakes. Porker Pipes. This is a very clean bike with the possibility of adding custom stripes or whatever to suit your taste. I like the clean look - everything is either painted, hrome, r polished. Tail light is frenched. This is a soft tail so the two chromed "shocks" are tucked neatly under the motorcycle giving it a soft tail ride without looking at ugly side springs / shocks. There are three Harley-Davidson parts on this build: the springer front end, he chrome primary case cover, nd the oil pressure gauge.

THREE LEATHER SEATS INCLUDED: Seat height is approximately 24 3/4" This Springer has three seats 1) the Corbin (pictured) 2) a LePera (shorter than the seat shown) and 3) an HD brand Softtail seat. The Harley-Davidson Softtail seat is very comfortable (thick), lack leather The Corban black leather seat is also a solo seat but it has more of a higher design in the lower back area. This is not a true back support but it is comfortable on longer rides.

DETACHABLE WINDSCREEN: The detachable windscreen and accompanying aluminum bracket is not pictured but are both included as is the allen wrench to take it on and off. The brackets mount to the Springer front end and are not pictured. The windscreen is clear (no tinting).

PAINT: Paint is House of Kolor and is probably considered a "candy color." The first coat is a gold primer that brings out the depth of the base coat. Paint is deep and beautiful. There are paint flaws: The very front edge of the front fender shows some of the gold basecoat, here are several chips under the motorcycle on the frame where it rubbed a trailer while loading and unloading. The top of the fender has a faint, mall scratch from changing out the different seats.

TIRES: Front is Metzler Marathon 80/90-21. Rear is Avon 180155VB18.

FLAWS: The Corbin seat has a very small tear on the corner (see photo); The front fender has a chip on the very front and the gold colored primer is visible (see photo); The bottom of the frame has several chips (see two photos) almost all are from loading or unloading it on a trailer I had that had too steep of a ramp and scraped it; the rear fender has a tiny chip (see photo); One Porker exhaust pipe has an oil drip on it that won’t come out (see close-up photo of bluing); the left upright on the frame has a small paint chip (see photo, ictured on right side as pictured).

TITLE: I have in my possession the clear, riginal Florida title in my name dated 06/23/1999 when I purchased this motorcycle. Clear means there are NO liens and there never was one, eaning there are not lien satisfied stamps because this was a straight trade. Why Florida? I recently moved to Colorado. The “Make” box on the title is “ASPT” This is the Florida DMV code for Assembled From Parts or a full custom motorcycle.
