About the bike??

Up for auction with no reserve is a custom built Harley-Davidson Iron Head from R?¶ssel Customs newly finished October 2014. Built from a 1981 XLH 1000cc Sportster. This bike has been fully customized and modified retaining the original VIN (matching frame and engine numbers 1HD1CAH15BYO49874) and has an open title.

This is an old school vintage rigid/hard tail bobber. finished like an old hot rod. It?€™s low and lean and was built in a 'salt flat' style with a 19" front wheel and 16" rear wheel. It has front and rear disc brakes (dual discs on the front). Front forks 2" under stock reworked with fully adjustable Race Tech suspension.  Everything on this bike was either replaced with new. hand fabricated or completely refinished. All parts on this bike were powder coated except for the gas tank which has a custom gloss black paint job. Bike is accented with stainless steel and gloss black and metallic brushed nickel powder coating. Engine. cases and covers with contrasting powder. A R?¶ssel Customs signature hand customized king gas tank with deep drop in side panels gives this bike a classic look with a mean stance. The tank alone is a work of art. as this is not a factory stamped dent in a tank but hand made one of a kind - so you won't be parked next to anything like it. The exhaust was hand fabricated to follow the contours of the bike and are heat wrapped and sound amazing. Running an S&S 'shorty' super E carb.  Wiring harness is custom and wiring schematic included with bike. Bike had 27. 33 miles on engine before build. About 100 miles after build for test ride/shake down runs. The bike has custom bent stainless steel handle bars powder coated gloss black and is set up with LED low profile front directionals. a custom "Freddie" rear directionals/brake/tail light mounted under the seat. mirrors and a plate bracket with plate light. Much effort went into making this bike street legal and ready to ride while keeping the minimal. vintage look.  This is a unique hard tail retaining the soul and history of the original motorcycle with a rideable. cleaner. lighter custom with many upgrades from stock. Everything on this bike was done in house. in our shop. to our specifications including all fabrication. wheel lacing and powder coating. We try and powder coat as much of our bikes as possible for durability and longevity. Stainless spokes and stainless hardware (where applicable) as well. because we feel you should spend more time riding your bike not cleaning it or polishing chrome.

About the builders??

R?¶ssel customs is comprised of 'The LeBlanc Brothers'. Brian and Karl. grew up in a small coastal town in New England full of rough and tumble characters "fisherman. farmers and factory worker" types. They spent their formative years playing in bands and riding motorcycles.  Between them they have lived all over including: Rhode Island. Maine. New Hampshire. Arizona. New York. Sydney. Australia and now both currently reside in Florida. From hitting the races at Loudon or the dirt track Sundays at the local flat tracks the boys have been into bikes since they were young. Between them. their years of riding experience are incorporated into the designs of the bikes. Everything from riding hard on the streets of New York City on old antiquated machines to building and racing vintage race bikes to road trips over the amazing roads around Australia - these boys have lived motorcycles. R?¶ssel customs came about when Brian after graduating from MMI and working in dealerships on multiple brands. years of owning his own shops and some stretches as an instructor at both MMI and Wyotech and Karl who had just moved back to the States from overseas started a hard tail rebuild on an old Iron Head he had for over 20 years. They were soon thinking this is too cool. we have to build more of these for other people. With 30 years in the motorcycle industry the manifesto is?? taking cool vintage motorcycles and making them as modern as possible while retaining the history and soul of the old machines. Actually. to make the bikes look older but perform better. Two guys who have been riding. racing. repairing and building all types of motorcycles for about 30 years with an affinity for old Harleys. Triumphs. cafe racers. flat track and simple retro and race inspired Styling.

Bike will be available for pick up in Melbourne. Florida. Buyer responsible for organizing a shipping company. A local reputable shipping company can be referred. however we are not responsible for any shipping related issues once the bike leaves our possession.
