Hello folks. Here is something I never thought I would sell. my lovely Ducati ST2. The bike means far more to me than a price on ebay. but I have just bought a Hayabusa and am after upgrading my car. so I have decided to try and sell the ST2. I bought the bike in 2009 and took it straight abroad on a trip to Spain and Andorra. That was the start for many trip abroad. so far it has been to France. Belgium. Holland. Luxemburg. Germany. Spain. Gibraltar. Portugal and Wales! Some of these places it has visited multiple times. Outside of foreign trips. and has been an occasional commuting bike and weekend blaster! It has been absolutely brilliant and I am gutted to see it going. The bike it one of many Ducati's I have owned. and I have tried to look after it as well as possible. it has just had an MOT done with NO advisories in January 2015. It required new rear brake pads and new rear wheel bearings for the MOT. This work was completed and a fresh MOT issued. It also had a new clutch slave cylinder fitted as the old one was beginning to leak. The bike was once shiny Silver. but in 2012 I decided to chuck it down the road at low speed. causing damage to the right hand side. No one else was involved. it was low speed. and so I decided to fix the damage myself (new panels where needed and wing mirrors only). I decided that whilst I was doing this. I would change its appearance a little. and it ended up looking as it does now. The frame and wheels were powder coated in bright red. and the fairings painted in matte grey with black belly pan. Its not a pretty bike. more like a posh rat bike. hence i've called it the Duc-rati. Mechanically it drives lovely and goes like a train. it just isn't as pretty as some of its Ducati cousins. It was given a good service at the beginning of 2014. including belts. shims etc and has done 3000 miles since then. including a trip to Spain. over the Pyranees into France. over the Milau bridge and then upto Normandy and home. As usual. it never missed a beat and mixed it well against much bigger BMW's that I tour with. It also had new temp sensors fitted x2 last year as they were giving strange and unreliable readings. It ran to higher temp in France and the fans kicked in as they should do and it ran fine. The tyres are both legal and have a few thousand miles left in them. They are Michelin Road Pilot 2 tyres. I really could go on and on about how much of a brilliant bike this has been. but I would sound like a broken record. If you want to get in touch with me though. I will happily tell you all about the bike and where it has been. Faults at present. One of the carbon exhaust covers has a crack in it. It passes the MOT. and the sound is already immense. so it is really only cosmetic. The clutch cover has been opened up and looks pretty ugly. as does the rest of the bike. This does however reduce clutch dust and massively extends clutch life and reduces clutch slip. The radiator is a bit battered but again was more than upto the job in Spain/France last year. Like I have said. it is just a war horse of a bike. Cosmetically it is a bit of a turd. but mechanically goes really well. The bike will come with Duacti panniers and a top box. the make of which I can't remember. It can also come with original quiet exhausts if required. Please feel free to ask any questions or arrange a visit if you like. I will take more pictures this weekend. I will listen to sensible offers!!!I will accept cash on collection or PayPal. but will not release the bike until funds clear. Buyer collects. The bike can be ridden away but is currently SORN. so you will need to get it taxed.
