Description

You are looking at a unique version of the Ducati Diavel Carbon motorcycle. I purchased this from the original owner on eBay in July of 2012 who took excellent care of it and had made some nice appearance upgrades to it before he sold it to me when he was looking to get the new (at the time) 1199 Panigale Tricolore. Since I have owned it I have added a few more farkels focused more on improving its performance and was successful in smoothing its notorious low RPM quirkiness using an O2 manipulator (listed below). In addition to the list of extras (see below) on the bike. I also have a bin of spares and stock items that I will ship to the new owner free of charge (also see below). I won't lie and say I babied the bike and only rode it to church on Sundays. but I *never* abused this beauty. I rode it as it was intended. to go quick and have fun. but no hooligan antics. It has never been dropped and I wanted to set this up proper for the next happy owner the way I would want to receive it. so I replaced the spark plugs (at 10. 25 miles). it currently has brand new tires (installed at 10. 48 miles) as well as freshly changed oil (changed at 10. 93 miles). This is one of the best motorcycles I've ever owned and there is a reason it remains basically the same bike even through 2015 (except for the headlight and appearance modifications). In case you were curious. I am selling it because here in California we can split lanes (filtering) and I use it to commute to work in SF from time to time where the wider bars make splitting lanes a bit more tricky on the narrow streets than on my other sportbikes. so I am looking at something more slender. The wide bars aren't the best for splitting lanes in the city. but it does make it easy to dance the bike around at low speeds. It is surprisingly nimble especially the way your feet are set right under you and the bars position your body for sitting upright. It has gobs of power when you want it. launches from a stop like a rocket ship and sounds fantastic. I always receive compliments from anyone and everyone on its looks and its sound. It is the focus of attention at every place I park even around other high-end motorcycles. so you will also find that it is great for meeting new people!I have kept a record of services and major alterations since I've had it and only had one occasion where I had to take it in to a local shop for leaking coolant (at 9. 70 miles). It seems that the first year of these bikes they used steel core plugs in the cylinder heads and electrolysis ate away at the plugs creating a slow leak. They replaced all the steel plugs with brass and flushed the coolant system. This is the only service issue I've had with the bike and it is not due for its first valve check until 15. 00 miles. Important note! I currently have this set up for reverse (GP) shift - 1-up/5-down. If you are not familiar or comfortable with this shifting style let me know and I will return it to the stock (1-down/5-up) configuration and include the parts for you to change it to reverse shift later if you wish. FWIW. after changing my other bikes for track use I found using the reverse shift method to be very intuitive. easy to learn and more practical than the standard method. so I modified all my bikes. If you are looking at this ad you probably know what this bike is about; the bike comes standard with three different electronic riding modes (Sport/Touring/Rain). ABS and adjustable traction control. but just to be complete here is a quick summary of the Diavel:Engine Type: Liquid-cooled. desmodromic DOHC. transverse 90-degree L-twin. 4 valves per cyl. I have the clean California title in hand and ready to transfer to the new owner for a drama-free experience. I've bought and sold several motorcycles on eBay. so please bid with confidence. I do have the bike for sale locally. so I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells prior to the end date of the auction. I also may continue to ride it until it receives its first bid and I will update the mileage accordingly. Once it receives its first bid I will park it and clean it up (again) for its new owner. I will work with the winning bidder to coordinate with the shipper of their choice if the buyer is not from my local area. Please send me any questions you have regarding this and I'll answer to the best of my ability and post my reply for everyone to see. Thanks for looking. but don't let this gorgeous machine get away! I've lowered the price to make this even more of a bargain. so bid now! :-)Good luck!Sean T.
