Description

This Ducati was purchased from Newport Beach Ducati in December 2011 at that time it was unused and had not been started since leaving the factory.  This Ducati has an OFF HIGHWAY California title.  It was ordered as a race bike by a former AMA racer who had quit racing prior to taking delivery and it sat in his living room for ten years according to Newport Beach Ducati. It did not have any street bodywork. lights. turn signals. emissions equipment. or SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER.  The 600 miles stated is ESTIMATED based on the following. I rode this Ducati at four track days and four AFM sprint races total. no more.  Prior to starting it I changed all fluids. filters. and timing belts.  Removed all of the radiator hoses and the water pump housing and cleaned the insides. some of the hoses were changed when switching the standard radiator for a race version.   The top end was oiled by squirting oil from a old fashioned pump oil can like the Tin Man used on the valve train.  Using a Ducati engine turning tool I turned the engine over by hand about 20 times.  After that again with the spark plugs removed. I turned the engine over with the starter until the oil pressure light went out. I did this three times before I installed the spark plugs put the tank back on and it fired right up. The front and rear suspension were replaced as well as the swing arm. brakes. clutch. and wheels. Suspension was done by Dan Kyle at Kyle racing. rear shock was rebuilt and the spring was changed. The forks are Ohlins Road and Track with Kyle's internals and 10. 0 springs. DucShop  27mm offset triple clamps. Brakes are PFM six piston with PFM narrow band floating cast iron race rotors. Brembo radial pump brake and clutch master cylinders. STM slipper clutch. Dymag wheels and swing arm. I bought the swing arm about 15 years ago and used it previously on my 1997 916 SPS. Several years ago I had it painted to protect it from UV rays. ETI Fuelcell Kevlar/carbon fuel tank. Many of the nuts and bolts are Titanium. the large swing arm pivot bolt is Titanium. NCR Titanium ride height adjustment rod. Nichols stainless steel motor mount bolts. Acculign rear sets. Oversized radiator and oil cooler.
