For sale is an amazing custom 2004 999! Over $20,000 in Parts!!! Full spec list is below but her are the highlights. This build was inspired by Pierre Terblanche's original designs (second picture) for the bike. It started with a swing arm swap from a 1098 and proceeded from there. At this point I have cut 40 lbs off it and it handles amazingly and performs awesome and can keep up with newer bikes no problem! The 999 motor has great usable power that is not (too) overwhelming. Non Ram Air horsepower before we installed the 05-06 model "S" cams was 124 hp. It should be pretty close to about 135 now with Ram Air. All the stainless hardware that is load bearing or needs strength has been swapped to Titanium while engine covers and belt covers are held on with Aluminum bolts. Other than a light weight flywheel and the S cams, he motor itself has not been modified. The Nose fairing and winglets are carbon along with some trim pieces around the tan and key.
Here is a link to here how it sounds: https://youtu.be/d27_ozr5EEM
Body work has been Cerakoted with a new procedure that doesn't require baking the coating (Cerakote is a light weight thin coating that is very durable and is used on gun parts and metal components)
There are a couple small damages to it first the instrument cluster plastic has some small cracks (it doesn't leak or anything) and the bike fell down on the left side (Kickstand/Operator error - sorry) and chipped the coating. There is also a mark on the swing arm caused by the OE rearsets before they were replaced with the Current ones.
Now you may notice that I didn't change the brakes or suspension. This is because after a 40 lb diet the OE suspension and brakes became much more effective and there didn't seem a need to swap them at this time plus I like the way the OE stuff looks!
