Description

1958 AEROMERE CAPRIOLO TV 75cc

Up for sale is a 1958 Capriolo TV 75cc four stroke overhead cam motorcycle. It's passed through two owners at this point. The original owner claimed that his son wasn't happy with the bike when it was purchased, o it sat in the back of his shop for decades. For the sake of keeping things undisturbed, haven't pulled the top end to see about use, ut the odometer does function and reads just under 2 miles. Other evidence including no wear on rubber bits or seat seem to confirm the story. I'm confident if you wanted to run this bike, t would start easily and run well. It has high compression and strong spark. The transmission goes through the gears as it should. It remains unstarted, nd, ost likely, nused.

Cosmetically the bike is exactly how you want to find a true original surviver. There are signs of age such as slight paint discoloration flaking in spots and one small ding in the tank as pictured. Every part that was on this bike when it left the dealer is still present down to the original Italian made Pirelli tires. I even have the optional solo seat and with correct blue piping in nos condition and will include it in the sale.

A little history on these motorcycles: Capriolo, ater Aeromere was the name of the motorcycle arm of the Italian aircraft company Aero-Caproni. The company was based in Trento, n Northern Italy, nd manufactured motorcycles from 1948 until 1964 when Laverda purchased the property to expand production. The company name, ooling and the remaining stock of motorcycles and parts was purchased by the Wise family at Cosmopolitan Motors of Philadelphia. Mr. Wise still owns the the rights to the Capriolo name and is in possession of the original blueprints for these motorcycles. I've visited with Mr. Wise many times over the years and he has confirmed the above information to be true, he legitimacy of the motorcycle on offer here, nd allowed me to take some sample photographs of the blue prints for the TV 75cc.

These little Capriolo motorcycles are to this day regarded as the pride of Italy. Four stroke, verhead cam with a high compression ratio. All parts are of the highest quality available in Italy at the time of manufacture. Aprilia electrics and high end Tomaselli racing controls complement the high performance engine.

This motorcycle has a clear title in my name. It is ready to be registered in any state in the US, nd can be easily exported.

This is an incredibly rare opportunity to pick up a well documented piece of motorcycling history. I've set what I believe to be a reasonable reserve, nd included a buy it now price for those who would like to avoid the auction process.

***Here's a cool clip of a recent Capriolo rally in Italy. It gives you an idea of just how fun and sporty these bikes are. Thanks Fred for the heads up!
