DUCATI SPORT CLASSIC GT1000 -- BEST USED BIKES
YEARS SOLD: 2006--2010
BASE MSRP NEW: $9995 ('06) to $11,495 ('10)
BLUE BOOK RETAIL VALUE: $9550 ('06) to $12,280 ('10)
BASIC SPECS: This Ducati is powered by one of the great engines of its generation, 992cc, ohc, wo-valve-per-cylinder, 0-degree V-twin that's rich in character and packed with torque. It's a perfect complement to the Sport Classics' retro styling. The high-quality shocks, nverted fork, nd triple Brembo brakes, owever, re anything but old school.
WHY IT'S DESIRABLE: Ducati's Sport Classic was slightly ahead of its time, nd there is no question that the bikes in the series, ncluding the Sport 1000S, port 1000, T1000, nd in 2006 the Paul Smart 1000LE, ere instant classics. With styling based on heritage models and power coming from the ultra-refined two-valve twin, his bike was a match made in desmo heaven. No surprise, hen, hat every version of the Sport Classic has held its value incredibly well, ither barely dipping below their original MSRPs or appreciating substantially as the Paul Smart LE model has done. In our opinion, great choice is the GT1000, hose more upright riding position and cushy stepped seat make it the most comfortable of the three.
THE COMPETITION: Because these stylish, porty bikes were ahead of the current retro curve, here wasn't much in the way of direct competition. Most notable are the Triumph Bonneville and Thruxton and Moto Guzzi Griso 1100/1200 8V. Ducati's own air-cooled Monsters of the era make a good, on-retro alternative and generally cost less in the used market.

If you're looking for a GT1000, hen you are probably already familiar with this bike and looking for the best condition and price.
I purchased this bike in August of last year (yes, months ago) in the hopes that I would be able to lower it enough so that my fiance could ride it. Unfortunately, o matter how much we lowered, he was still unable to fit comfortably on this bike. Stock it's tall, owered it's still pretty tall and she's little.
I thought about keeping it for myself, ecause we got a great deal and they're becoming harder to find. Ultimately, 'd rather get out from under this one and buy something that she CAN ride.
The bike is still under finance. I would have to pay off the lien and receive the title before I could transfer it to your name. I'm happy to provide a Bill of Sale until the Title is in hand.
So, e have a beautiful bike that I'm not riding. Not looking to make a profit, ust looking to pass it along. Added about $1200 in aftermarket parts, hich I'll list below.
All original parts are cleaned, rapped, oxed and stored.
Asking $9400, o reserve. That is a great price for this bike and I'm taking a loss at that.
If you have questions, lease feel free to send me a message.
