It's been a tough decision but I've decided to sell my 996 and upgrade to an 848/1098/1198. No reserve auction, ny bid takes it!
Quick 2 minute video of the bike is posted on youtube, ith a walk around and startup of the engine when cold: https://youtu.be/aPyBIjRXOdY
2001 Ducati 996, ellow. Mono tail section installed but there is also a BiPosto tail section included with the bike, s well as factory original windscreen and seat. Corbin seat installed, ero Gravity windscreen and Pazzo levers installed. Trickle Charger installed as well. Pitbul rear stand is not included, orry. (Negotiable for a cost) You will need to get a stand as the bike will not run with the kickstand down - it's a pain but forces you to let the bike warm up before riding.
The bike currently has 26,7xx miles on it, am still riding it so there will be a few more miles at the time of sale. Once the auction closes with a buyer, will stop riding the bike and park it in the garage until pickup.
Physical condition:The bike is in beautiful condition. In regards to scratches, ings & such, here is one very small dent in the tank, hich I tried to illustrate in the pics however it's pretty small and hard to illustrate, maller than the size of a dime, therwise the tank is in great shape. The lower section of the fairings have a few normal wear & tear scratches, see pics) It looks like somebody took the fairings off and laid them on the ground at some point, here is no sign of any road rash and the bike has never been down. In my opinion, his bike is in better condition than you would expect from 26k miles of riding.
Mechanical condition:Fresh oil change. The bike has 26,700 miles. The major 24k service interval was performed at Fay Myers Motorcycle World (Colorado) in May 2013, nd there was just over 23k miles on the odometer. At that time, he entire maintenance was performed - timing belt, alve adjustments etc... This was done by the previous owner, was able to call Fay Myers and confirm that the service work was performed - if you wish to confirm, lease contact me for details. The bike sat mostly idle for 2013 and 2014 riding seasons and I started riding it last year - When I purchased the bike, took it to Erico motorsports in Denver for a safety/health check before starting to ride it, hey fixed everything listed below then gave it a very clean bill of health - Last riding season, 015, hen the bike had approx 24k miles on it I had the following work performed by Erico Motorsports in Denver: The front axle had some play in it which caused the brake rotors to warp and some looseness in the front end - at that time Erico Motorsports replaced the front axle and performed a front brake service including new front brake rotors. They also replaced the voltage regulator and stainless steel braided rear brake line at the same time. Later in the riding season right before winter (at about 26k miles) I had the fuel lines inside the gas tank replaced as one of them had cracked and caused the bike to lose power, his is fairly common on these bikes. At that time, also replaced the fuel sending unit to fix an inoperable fuel level light.
Currently the bike has no known mechanical issues nor does it need any maintenance. This bike is ready to ride!
Not about rear turn signals - there are no rear turn signals. The bike is wired for rear turn signals to be integrated into the taillights, ut that was never completed. Brake lights, i/low beam, ront turn signals and cockpit gauges all work. Aftermarket low-beam installed for brighter light, an't remember the wattage or brightness. Illustrated in the pic - the rubber gasket around the back side of the low beam (where the bulb is installed) has unfortunately been worn over the years and had a tear in it, here is electrical tape wrapped around just to keep it sealed, unctionality is fine and I've had no problems with the lights - low beam ballast was replaced last year and works perfectly.
Any questions. please ask or call me at 303-525-2233. Located in Golden, O. I can help get the bike shipped if necessary. More pics and video available upon request. I love this bike, ou will too!
