I have for sale my 2006 Paul Smart Replica with just 392 miles on the clock from new. I bought this bike last November after much persuasion from a business associate who had not used the bike since 2007 and it had been sitting in his garage with other exotica. Once it was in my possession i set about servicing it and getting it road worthy. When i first came into possession of the bike i was determined to keep it for as long as possible. its such a pretty looking machine. every ride resulted in admiring comments from other motorcyclists/car drivers. It really is a very pretty looking bike with beautiful attention to detail and some great design clues that show why these bikes are so popular with collectors and riders. it handles beautifully and sounds great with the standard system and very fruity with the Sil Moto silencers i have fitted ( i have the complete system which i purchased for £1300. 00. this is not included in the sale and is negotiable). My plan was to keep it use it for sunny days. with a view to keeping it for a few years and enjoying it as often as i can. But with a busy workload and a young family it appears as thought the bike will not be used as often as i would like. Since its been in my possession. i have done just 59 miles in 11 months. I bought the bike with 333 miles on the clock. its now showing 392. As a result of the bike being kept in a heated garage and not having much use there are a few interesting original features which i believe make the bike very unique. It still has the original torque mark settings made by factory mechanics during their final inspection with a yellow marker on various nuts/bolts before it leaves the factory. as well as the round yellow stickers. Again just proving how little the previous owner used it. but regularly fired it up and had it serviced. Like most Ducati's the Paul Smart replica is prone to the paint peeling off the engine casings. but the this bike has not yet suffered that fate. although there is a very small bubble about the size of a 2p piece on the engine casing. CONDITION The seat is perfect as is underneath as can be seen in the pictures. all the wiring still has the original stickers and is like new. Its still on its original tyres (i know these will need to be changed. i just never got around to changing them). again showing how original the bike is. The ohlins front and rear suspension is perfect and no leaks. They really look superb and make the handle like a peach . It has MOT until March 2015. but NO tax as i decided to SORN it due to lack of use. The frame is perfect and has a deep lustre. Tank is like new with no dints or marks. BAD POINTS As a result of it being stored for so long there has been some deterioration to the chromework on the bike. The most badly affected area being the headlight surround. All four indicators are plastic chromed and have some discoloration. i have two new indicators. they will be provided with the bikeThe spokes have suffered a similar fate. and even though some of them clean up well. they wheels will need removing and cleaning thoroughly. before any viewings take place i will give them another clean. they look far worse in the pictures. Brake and clutch lever adjuster bezels are pitted. If any of you have experienced Ducati ownership you will be familiar with the quality of such components as chrome and paint on their machines and with time it deteriorates. but this bike has fared better than most. In all honesty. i would recommend that any potential buyer come and view the bike before bidding. i still cant believe that people buy cars/motorbikes without viewing them beforehand. SUMMARYI have seen bikes with up to 5000+ miles being offered for sale at near the £15. 00 mark. so in my opinion its more desirable due to its condition and originalityThe bike will come with three sets of spare keys as well as all the booklets and service book and original bill of sale. will upload a picture of these later. It was purchased form Daytona Ruislip. who registered the bike hence showing two previous owners on the Registration document. It has a factory fitted alarm/immobiliser and works as it should as do all the electrics. Apologies to all the serious and genuine buyers out there. but this has to be said. PLEASE PLEASE no timewasters or dreamers. i have a busy life with work and a young family and do not want the following: *SILLY OFFERS *DEALERS *CANVASSERS *EXCHANGES FOR YR WIVES 10 YR OLD PORSCHE I have put a reserve on the bike based on research i have carried out and will not be telling potential buyers what it is. thats the whole point of setting a reserve. *NO TEST RIDES. not even if i have the full asking amount in my handThe bike is advertised elsewhere and i reserve the right to remove it form auction at any time. The bike is in Stoke Poges. near Heathrow Airport. viewings can be arranged during the daytime's as im self employed and can meet with a days noticeFeel free to get in touch on the no below or through the normal Ebay channels. Winning bidder to pay a deposit of £100 on winning the auction and the remainder before the bike is collected. Anyone bidding on the bike and not going through with the purchase will be reported to Ebay. sorry if this sounds harsh but there are far too many dreamers/time wasters on here who bid and then realise they cannot go through with the purchase. reslting in the item being listed again at cost and time borne by the seller (me). 07866 431883
