2009 Ducati 1098 *Low Mileage* *Mint Condition* *No Reserve* *99p Starting Bid*

Hi all and welcome to the auction.  Here is an opportunity to own probably the best looking. lowest mileage. most sorted example of this exquisite marque of motorcycle. This is without a doubt the Ferrari of the bike world. a cut above the rest of the bunch!! Pure Italian style and beauty!! This bike and it's owner have a sad story to tell so please read on;I'm selling this bike for a very good friend of mine who was lucky enough to escape the UK in search of a better life in Canada.  Having tasked a removal/storage company with the mundane tasks such as packing. storing and shipping his worldly possessions to the far away continent. he boarded a plane and never looked back. And who can blame the guy?!That is until. Said removal and storage company contacted him upon arrival to break the news. that the Canadian authorities will not allow the import of motorcycles unless they were specifically manufactured for use in Canada?!So the bike. nbsp;affectionately named "The Wife" was divorced and a broken hearted and angry friend of mine is all settled in Canada. with a new girlfriend. Of the two legged kind!! As a direct result of this romantic love story. and being such a great mate. I stepped in and picked her up when she was down and a dramatic love affair was started. I shacked up with my mates "Ex Wife" loving. caring and caressing her beautiful curves. I had always fancied her a bit anyway!! At this stage my Wife stepped in and put her foot down. I have two mistresses already and she wasn't going to fall foul of another. especially since she didn't currently have a bike!! (Please feel free to have a look at one of my significant others. currently for sale here also).  As for the bike itself. it was purchased on the 16/02/13 from Premier bikes in Oxford.  Justin (the broken hearted one) was the second keeper. The previous keeper had part exchanged this for a new RC8R. While he owned the bike he added many extra's. to include:Double bubble screen (Black tint). Moto Graphix set and Tank Protector in the Italian flag colours (I personally think these finish the bike off really well). Aftermarket Corbin style leather seat cover (possibly a genuine Corbin). Red anodised Ducati Reservoir and Oil Filler caps.  Red anodised Ducati Frame caps.  Open clutch cover. Shorty levers. Factory fitted Marchesini wheels were powder coated in gold. Various Carbon fibre pieces - Belly pan. Front mudguard. Rear hugger. Heel plates. Chain guard. Radiator protector. Frame protectors. Front sprocket cover. Mirror covers. Ignition surround and nose cone inlays. (All believed to be Factory Ducati modifications). Tail tidy. All the above can be seen on the pictures ^^^Since owning the bike Justin had the suspension set up professionally for his 13 stone frame.  And prior to me collecting it. for the purpose of selling. the bike had a fresh MOT and a new battery. with added trickle charger connector. The bike currently has a private plate included in the sale. nbsp;the plate is a reference to Justins name the last three letters being (JJF) for obvious reasons this is all I am prepared to divulge as far as the plate is concerned. If however the plate isn't to your taste. I am led to believe that you can submit it to DVLA for free and have the original registration mark re-assigned?! Or you can sell it on. the original value was £250 so nothing overly extravagant I'm afraid!The overall condition is fantastic. with no obvious scratches. marks. bumps or knocks and I would say it's immaculate for it's age. The bike has only covered 4060 miles!!!! and the MOT certificates back this up! The previous owner even went to the trouble of checking the torque settings on just about every nut and bolt. marking them individually with marking paint in the colours of the Italian flag£!!!!! The bike is sold with a full service history. There is however a little but. The service book and book pack is currently in transit. in a box of personal effects. currently sailing its way to Canada in a shipping container! Though due to land on Canadian soil tomorrow (30/10/14). Once in receipt of the container Justin will dig it out and DHL it to my address. hopefully prior to the auction ending. Worst case scenario I give my word that it will be forwarded on to the winning bidder. I'm currently in the process of communication with the dealer (Premier bikes Oxford). hoping to get something from them which will prove the fact this bike has a full service history (just for buyers peace of mind). I will update with the progress of the above. as things develop. There is no endless list of negatives. as with some things listed on eBay. Though unfortunately the pictures of this bike do it absolutely no favours. it must be seen in the flesh to be fully appreciated.
