Up for auction is a very rare. complete 1966 Ducati Diana 250 Mark III with 4. 00 original miles. Frame and Engine numbers match. Clear title in my hand. This bike is an excellent candidate for a restoration. 29mm Dellorto Carb with original velocity stack. The carb was removed and ultrasound cleaned. Original gas tank has been rattle canned silver. It should be red. The inside will need to be cleaned out. Very strong tank. no dents. no holes. Has stock gas cap that functions as it should. Tank underside has "cut-out" section to accommodate the carb. This is correct from the factory. Original "bread loaf" seat in great condition. no tears. and has Ducati metal logo on the rear. The bike has both tool boxes with the original Mark 3 logos. Tail light housing has factory toggle switch and very nice lens. Original M. Baruzzo-Torino rims with factory Pirelli tires from 1966! Aprilia front headlight. The bars and the headlight switch are factory pieces. The button on the left is an aftermarket "kill" switch. Original Exhaust with Brevetti Silentium muffler in good shape without dents. Factory Veglia tachometer. Original Ducati foot pegs in very good condition. Frame is configured for the rear set option that came with this bike. If you can find a factory set. they will bolt right on! I replaced the plastic gland nut assembly with a new set from Bevel Heaven because the original one disintegrated. The bike has a very strong spark. and excellent compression but i could not get it started. I primed the cylinder with gas and it "shot gunned" a blast out the pipe. The points are either off 180 degrees or the timing is off. The previous owner stated the bike ran when parked in 1972. I'm not a Ducati expert. Someone with experience with these old singles will have it running in no time! As stated this beauty is in original condition and it shows. It has great patina and would be very nice the way it is. The rust you see in the pics will come off with cleaning. I planned on restoring it. but my plans have changed and my time has run out! These gems do not surface often. It was difficult to find much information about them. I did find one RESTORED Diana 250 that sold at Bonhams auction in May of 2010 for $17. 50!! That bike and mine are only 37 numbers apart! Ebay will not allow me to add the link to the Bonhams site. Do a google search and type "Ducati Diana for sale" and you will see the listing. These are basically race bikes with lights! Here's your chance to own a very special. classic. piece of motorcycle history. Do some research and you'll see what i mean. I reserve the right to end the auction early as I'm selling the bike locally. I will be happy to help with both Domestic and International shipping. but REMEMBER. SHIPPING IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER. Please contact me with any questions you may have. I can be reached at 310-606-0434. Please check out my other auctions: 1948 AJS 500 single and 1976 Honda CB750 K6 with 6. 80 miles!Cheers. hannon
