1966 DUCATI 250 MK III

This is a '66 250 MK III built for the US market. hich is why it doesn't have clip-ons or rear set footpegs. The ignition is magneto so no battery or horn. I bought the bike from the original owner in 1989 and restored it. ode it and won a few trophys at shows. ven raced it in a street bike class in '91 and took my first 2nd place trophy. It's been sitting in my shed now for the last 18 or so years and I decided it should go to someone who will enjoy it as I did. I brought it in. isassembled it. epainted the frame. ank and fenders. tripped the engine and installed a new piston. id a valve job and checked the bearings then gave everything a good cleaning and reassembled it. I fired it up today and she runs OK but needs carb adjustment(SS1's are a pain)which I will try to get to this week. As for the rest of the bike. he wheels really need to be redone to make them perfect(disassembled. ubs polished. aybe rechrome or new rims. )Also. he seat has a small tear which is sort of repaired(tried to show it in a pic)and the shifter. ickstart lever and points cover all need rechroming(I had the originals done but put them somewhere "safe" and. ell. f you're over 50 you know what I'm saying). All in all a very nice bike. aybe not a concours winner but certainly will get attention at Sunday breakfast. Buyer will be responsible for all shipping arrangements and costs.
