Description

For sale is my 2001 Ducati Monster 900ie

**

This Monster is ready to go. I am selling because I need the money for a down payment on a new car and because I don't ride it enough.  I only put 800 miles on it since May of 2013.

Garage kept. it's a great bike in good shape and runs fantastic.  Great sound. great useable power. tons of smiles all day.

Tasteful mods include:

Bar end mirrors (OEM mirrors included with the bike)Various powdercoated bits including rear sets. passenger pegs. clutch cover. belt covers. exhaust. etc. Shortened OEM exhaustFender chopOpen clutch coverEVO 2 LiFEPO4 battery (http://www. ballisticparts. com/category. php?cPath=141)Motowheels plug and play kickstand bypass harness (allows bike to idle with the kickstand down) (http://motowheels. com/i-6923018-mw-kickstand-switch-bypass-kit-for-most-ducati. html)

Brand new (less than 200 miles) Michelin Pilot Road 3 tires.  I researched and these were the best road tires you could get which is why I bought them.

New EVO 2 LiFEPO4 (Lithium Ferrous Phosphate) battery in June of last year.  HUGE weight savings over the standard battery.

Matching GIVI front windscreen included with purchase

Comes with 2 keys and key-code tag.  There was no red key for this model year - just to be clear. the two black keys and code tag is exactly what it came with new and is all you need if you want to get more keys made.

The maintenance has been properly performed by myself and the previous owner.  The previous owner was a Ducati technician.  He performed everything up to approx. 14. 8k miles (when I bought it). including valve adjustments and timing belts.  I've only had to do oil/filter change and I put a new fuel filter in last summer.  I was planning to bleed the clutch and brake fluids this winter as that is recommended at 15k miles. but I have not done it yet.  I will include a Haynes manual with the bike if you want it.

The only negatives I can think of are 1) there is very small dent in the tank (left side. towards back of tank just behind and above Ducati logo - see pics).  2) The powdercoat on the main clutch cover is a little rough due to some outgassing from oil still in the metal - it could be hit with a scotchbrite or sandpaper and painted with a matching flat black.  It's purely cosmetic and didn't bother me enough to warrant the time to do it.

I HAVE THE TITLE IN HAND. IN MY NAME. READY TO TRANSFER.

I live less than 1 mile from the local title office and license bureau.

I just took a video of startup and running.  My camera did a terrible job capturing the sound. but the point of the video was just to show it starts and runs great.  Cold start. first time I started it in about a week. ?‰?45-50?° outside.
