Description

1967 Ducati 250 Mark 3 Diana narrow case bevel drive single. The original frame tag number 98741 and motor numbers are matching and consistent with all paperwork going back to 1967. Speedometer shows 7611 miles. This Ducati was restored around 14 years ago. and has been on indoor display since- it is not currently running. Buyer should assume that fuel cannot just be added and be good to go- there may or may not be any mechanical or electrical issues to do final sorting out on. I cannot and do not make any promises. guesses. nbsp;claims. or guarantees and I will honestly disclose up front all I know about the bike. This motor had a valve job done by former owner and well know Ducati expert John Lumley- aka Dr. Desmo. The bottom case allen fasteners are safety wire drilled. but not wired or lead sealed like bevel twins- I did not have the bottom end disassembled and do not know or find evidence if a previous owner did so. Motor has good compression and rotates freely with no warning signs or sounds. This bike was restored with as many original parts available at the time from these sources: the late Henry Hogben of Ontario Canada. Joe at Cosmopolitan Motors. Harry's Motors in  Denver CO. Wheels Unlimited in Rochester MN. and Domiracer Accessory Mart. New old stock parts purchased include the Marzocchi shock absorbers. wm2X18X36 Sanremo steel rims. Silentium muffler. nbsp;fuel petcocks. shift lever. gas cap. levers. throttle. footpegs. cables. fasteners. This Diana has two deviations from stock: a Vincent type flat bar. and an aftermarket caf?© seat. Seat is a nicely made fiberglass piece with leather upholstery. and I do not have the original seat or bars available. Includes an original Veglia tachometer. but cable is slightly short and binds at left lock. Previously mentioned Sanremo rims have original painted steel Alpina spokes used. Tool boxes are originals. not reproductions. nbsp;and there are some noticeable touched up paint chips on one. All paint and bodywork is otherwise excellent. Fork drain screw gaskets need replacement. Ducati branded tire pump on frame tube is also an original part. Carburetor is Dellorto SSI 29D. All black parts are painted. there is no powder coat on this bike. All fasteners are original. either new old stock or replated. Aprilia headlight rim and GE sealed beam lens. Note that Dianas had magneto ignitions. so there is no battery or key.

Please avoid any potential disappointments and do not assume anything about this bike- ask me questions you may have about any areas I've not covered or shown as I suspect many viewing this know more about bevel singles than I do. I have earned a proven selIing track record and am easy to work with. I live in the Chicago IL area. and welcome any in person inspection by interested bidders. or can discuss details on the phone with you. Legal paperwork: I have the original 1967 Statement of Origin from Berliner Motor Corporation. title application forms. and State of Illinois title from 1972 that is not in my name. Auction protocol: I always conduct transparent. open. and honest auctions that run to conclusion. I have no Buy It Now price. and my reserve price will not be disclosed- so please don't ask. nbsp;but it is reasonable and a bit less than recently sold comparable Mark 3 Dianas. Bidders with less than 3 feedbacks and essentially no history or identity will be blocked. Please ultimately just bid what you feel the bike is worth. Shipping is buyer's responsibility. it's your call of course. but I suggest buyer protect his investment from damage and not ship with lowest bidder- choose the shipper with best reputation. Payment to be made by direct bank wire transfer. cashier's check not accepted. and transaction to be concluded within 14 days. Thank you for your interest. and I hope this beautiful little Ducati finds an appreciative next owner!
